And I thought your cellar was stacked with wine. Or have you drunk it all?
Woke and in favour of a functioning NHS and criminal justice system, benefits for the less fortunate, decency and honesty. So delighted to have got rid of the Tories #FBPE

Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
Stuff just gets overwhelming sometimes. If you can look at yourself and think that is a kind and decent person, you are a winner in life. I think you can.
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
I can relate to almost every part of this post. I'm pretty private and find it difficult to be that honest, but I've found support on here that has really touched me. Remember to look after yourself first and foremost, and the rest will be easier.
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
Hi wren. You're new to me but I see the best people follow you. Look after yourself. And never forget how to smile.

For law, go to David Allen Green and those he responds to. Peter is great, but he's a political communicator rather than a legal commentator. Imho
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
Might be nonsense - had a quaff myself!😉
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
I also strongly recommend looking at the blue sky legal bods for proper analysis of the reality when numpties wang on about legal stuff. I can point you at a couple of good starting people...
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
And the sad thing is politicians have learned to go for the 5 second clip rather than the proper presentation of an argument. Therein lies fuckage and trump's popularity. I despair at times, but do my best to educate people in real life!

The BBC was always a propaganda wing of the government. This used to be essentially benign for us (eg ww2). A completely revamped structure, mandate and management is now required as a matter of urgency following their failure to challenge opinion against expertise. And it's getting worse.
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
I am a bit of a news junkie. Some years ago, I knew the real details of a couple of news stories and saw how inaccurately they were reported. I now assume reporting is wrong, but try to sense what is the truth. It's not necessarily poor reporters, just failure to spend time to understand?
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
This place gives a great insight into what is really happening. It is so sad how broadcast media has largely failed the UK. In particular, the BBC should be ashamed of itself for its failure to provide "balance"
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
See you in 3 hours then! 😉
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social)
This is brilliant...
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
I hope today goes as well as possible and you feel encompassed by love. I am so so sorry.

Oi, you're meant to be patient and wait for the first frost before picking. Or is that why there aren't many left when I go hunting?

It was tongue in cheek. Anyone with Trump's body would be at risk.
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
It's more probable Putin gave him something healthy, but Trump's body reacted badly.😉
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
They did have a body double. Sadly he died after a massive myocardial infarction.

Cannot tell this lot how valuable their explanations are to a big swathe of us on here as replies muted, but they open ones eyes as to the misreporting of all legal cases in the public eye.
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social)
Filled in the form from my MP, - but it is so un-nuanced. Priorities include Brexit, immigration,NHS etc. A priority of mine is immigration, but that safe routes should be established and asylum seekers welcomed and rapidly integrated into our socioeconomic culture. Ask better questions?
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
It's so much worse than that. It is the casual use of the concept that history is written by the victors, whilst just assuming they are the victors. It is utterly disgusting

From what I gather, European leaders are massing around Ukraine's leadership in the Trump meeting. Trump's only agenda is that he feels loved and respected because he was denied that as a child. Putin's win could be very short lived. 🤞🏽

We threw a couple of the RYA yacht master books at him which he devoured and asked lots of questions. Also got him involved in passage planning and every element of boat handling, so he's already there really.

Absolutely loved it and was a real asset for two old boys in our late 60s! I'm no sailing expert, but it was great fun teaching some core skills like knots, line throwing and sail setting. Music PhD, so an interesting character as well. He's signing up for a day skipper course!

Left in the capable hands of my brother who is now in Combarra - Very jealous! He's got another week before the owners appear. Work commitments unfortunately - got a business to run and elements are difficult on board.

Been there, done that! Late night visit to the loo after a few sherbets and selected wrong door in a hotel. Locked out of my room stark naked.

I don't know how well you know the rias altas, but I will forever think of Ares as the wet place. Having returned to boat and changed to dry clothing, we went ashore again to encounter their "Bull Run". Another dowsing! But how joyous

It's so irritating sorting everything out again - some things are smooth, but Barclays is impossible. You can only have one mobile device registered, and have to use the old one to allow the new one. Yeah, right.

Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
We crossed from bel isle to Cedeira a week ago. Basically fine, but the swell was really messy. Cedeira to Ferrol move coincided with an orca contact within a mile at same time - nothing heard on C16. Crew/passenger changes, so currently pottering and in Coruna now
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social)
No problems crossing Biscay apart from a messy swell, but a simple slipway landing was too challenging and carefully protected phone in pocket was fucked. Now on new phone. Hello all, how you doing?
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
We came to the same bar where my brother was last year when we lost to Spain in the men's version. He went around congratulating them all and was presented with a Spanish flag! Sadly, there was limited interest in this match from the locals, but it was still hugely friendly. As it should be
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
Spent the evening in a Spanish bar with really friendly locals in Galicia. Good game, and fun to the end

I'm a bit sad this thread is just us - the joy of blue sky is random interventions going off on weird directions. But you are brilliant on here. Thank you, and goodnight. (Should I use the heads, or just piss off the stern downwind?)

Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
I didn't thank you for this offer - but hopefully we are sorted. ♥️
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
Wtf is a Carrick bend? I know bowline, clove hitch, round turn and two half hitches and prussic loop from climbing days. And sheet bend. And reef. Pretty much a bdsm pro?

There is a huge joy to be derived from teaching simple skills like knots and line throwing whilst learning new understanding of music.
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
There's a very complicated story as to why we have been let loose on this boat, but it all starts with music. And Ealing. Brother, skipper, is a professional fartist at the Spanish ladies Or flautist?
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
Our press ganged cabin boy with no previous experience of sailing is a teacher with a PhD in music... So we're having fun with noises!

Still in Brittany. Went from La Roche Bernard across to Crouesty before the storm, getting a bit of west in on basis of forecast. Out of here tomorrow to Huat then bel isle anchorage. Off to A Coruna thereafter, orcas permitting. Forecast looks perfect and swell should have died

Spot on. But why do Western governments continue to allow such leeway - that is what really confuses me. Why. And why are protests considered so inflammatory?
Philip Bain (@philipbain.bsky.social) reply parent
