1/3 One can apply for a PRP (& with additional fee permission to work) from in/outside the country. Eventually after you receive that you can apply for citizenship and then your passport.

2/3 There may be follow-up questions, maybe extra docs requested (police record, education and work record for example) which may also involve translation or notary services etc... I brought my wife to Canada in 2017 and she received her passport earlier

Ireland will give you a retirement Visa is you have 50k euros/year. France has a favorable long stay visa (like one year) that you can easily renew. And you can get on their health care. Need to know French but there are lots of schools and one person said you can be up to speed in about 6 mos.

I live in a small Saskatchewan town (one of many) where many Americans now live. It's possible for you too. Town is 40 minutes from a city; buy a house to get you started for as low as $25G CDN, upgrade once you get established. We've schools, hospital w/5 doctors, huge lake/park 10 min away, etc.

Canada is my only option, if I were able to leave the US because of my pets/farm animals that I don't want to abandon. The cost of living looks so expensive, but I know it has to be survivable 😭

No. You won't like it. The winds almost never stop and can bring the temperatures down to -50C with the windchill in winter. Cold snaps can last almost a month, like a high of maybe -20C for weeks. And lately we're in a several year drought. That's one other reason housing is dirt cheap here.

Come over to east central SK, closer to the Manitoba border. Stay off the flats & north of Hwy 1 (Trans Canada). Almost no wind or lousy weather here ever. This winter's cold was exceptionally long, yes, but it was like that all the way to the Gulf. We didn't get much snow till last weekend either.

If you go to BC, go to the interior. The coast and anything up to Princeton can really suck for soggy cold weather

My doctor & family came from Nigeria when it was COLD, but day 3 they & kids were playing outside & said it had warmed up. It was actually colder. Dry air here seems warmer. Coastal dampness chills to bone, seems colder.

Don't look at city prices in any province or you'ill be discouraged. I was living in Vancouver & was just existing. One night for a laugh I googled "houses under $25000". Bought this place the next day, moved here 12 days later. NO regrets. It's just a 2 hr flight to Vancouver. Retiring here easier
