He actually thinks that or only says that to keep his MAGA base supporting him? Granted, he *may* be that stupid but somehow it seems to me he plays on the (wilfully) stupidity of his supporters. Standard fare for most cult leaders, actually.

I think he's thought that over time. I know MAGA's been around a while too, but I thought I've read that he's never understood tariffs. From 2020, I'll look for something earlier than this: www.brookings.edu/articles/did...

Felon 47 is very happy with it too. It’s putting lots of money in the government pockets! Paid for by us the taxpayers. Sadly his maga people believe that other countries are paying!

It's a regressive tax. Who buys foreign goods? It can be argued that there are fewer high-tech manufacturers overseas, that America makes more of it, but Europe, Japan, Korea, and even China are making it. America's poor buy it and pay the tax.

I don't get the "becoming increasingly clear" phrasing. it has *always* been clear that American consumers would pay any tariffs.

I'd say I was shocked it took so long for some to figure out and that is before the Department of Education was gutted. 10-20 years there will be no hope of return.

My groceries have gone up by $50-$75 per week! My offset is that because I don’t drive as much as I use to, a $50 fill-up lasts me two months.

It's not the first time that the US does this either. Or blame Chineses for everything. Or blame latinos for everything. Their agenda never works though.

Reasons why I will never belive MAGA that the reason they voted for Trump was over the cost-of-living. He was literally running on a platform of raising prices. That was his promise, he just refused to admit it because he always argues in bad faith.
