Absolutely the hell not😂 If you got smoked by some weird-ass online campaign no one outside the internet cares about, and made it your whole personality, sorry for ya.

I live in a right leaning suburb outside of Denver. Nothing about what New York does relates to what voters want here at all. Quite the opposite, most of them view New York/Chicago/etc like some foreign hellscape with Mad Max shit going on every night. Policy should be targeted and regional
Absolutely. Solipsism will be one of the reasons this country will end up in rubble (racism will always be #1).
Yep - donut counties blame Indy's crime on Chicago, but then blame their crime on us. Meanwhile I'm outside on the "scary" east side watching a documentary, and hanging with my dog😂
If anyone suggested we try to implement New York politics in Texas, they'd be laughed out of the state, for better or worse.
Seriously - how embarrassing. If anything, that race would be a blast for the GOP here to once again smoke local races, like they continue to do with Bernie.
DSA candidate primaried my hated blue dog Dem in our purple district and got creamed by 46 points. DSA has very limited appeal, thank the gods.
If DSA thinks they’re so popular, they need to gather the signatures and get on the damn ballot. On their own damn party line. And the way these on-line DSA types think we need to adopt their stupid positions is hilarious.
Recently on X:, a Texas state rep made the mistake of saying while Mamdani modeled how to run a successful campaign, his policies wouldn't fly in her district. They crucified her in the replies. It was wild.
Completely delusional!
She tried engaging them in good faith until they became abusive (surprise) and she backed away.
Oh that's surprising to shit. Neighbor Judy is a leftist and her ass is a Catholic and still loves Bernie. Neighbor Judy also went hard for HRC and Harris, because she's not a selfish asshole.
I can't figure them out.
They're just selfish and entitled. My former neighbor was a Berner in '16, and then went full Trumper after HRC won the nom. I knew that guy wasn't shit, but no one listened to me. Thank god he moved back to Pennsylvania.
And it's just true, you cannot run an NYC campaign in Texas.
Seems so obvious, and yet . . . But sure, let’s hand these folks the keys to the DNC.
Most of them have no clue about what the DNC does, but they routinely blame them for everything they don't like.
Precisely. You have to work with the electorate you have rather than the one you want. Getting the electorate you want takes an enormous amount of work, and even then, you may not get there.
And I know I'm just some nobody in the Midwest, but I know you can't run that kind of campaign outside of NYC, just like a damn Dem here in a donut county. It's why the GOP still uses the damn Squad and defund the police bs yeeeears later and it's still effective.
Now we have Mamdani and his baggage. 2026 is going to be a fight in my rural purple district.
And these online leftists don't realize that even in the most "red" districts, they're actually pretty damn purple. They don't get the gerrymandering and voter suppression that's happening.
Our reliance on private vehicles already puts us far from what NYC has going on.
Indy once had a rail system that ran way out to donut counties. The vehicle industry nuked it. During the winter when it's pothole season, you can see the rails downtown.
Exactly. If your policy plans assume that there is robust, working well funded public transit options, in Texas you're already operating off bad assumptions!
That's the most "New York is the center of the universe and everything else is flyover country" statement I've seen yet (1/2)
I'm old enough to remember when New York went *bankrupt* and the Republic didn't collapse because of it (2/2)
And like damn - I'll make fun of this state like nothing else, and do all the time, but real people live here, and the GOP HATES this fucking city so much, they're trying to redistrict, and were just at the WH.
"the GOP HATES this fucking city so much" I very much understand. They want to invade my hometown like it was Iraq. And then turn it over to the same people who ruined Iraq. "Chicago-itional Provisional Authority."
Yep - absolutely. My Nazi Lt. Gov and the FOP president would love it so much. They're all up Caitlin Clark's ass, but scared to shit of the city. Okay, dorks.
The SOLE reason I care is because I live in NJ, where my Governor will have to work with whoever wins…And where my Black Senator has been harassed DAILY for not endorsing, while the GOP nom for Gov has been attacking the hell out of the Dem nom for Gov AND downballot Dems over a generic endorsement.
Absolutely. People that live in these bubbles think they're so much smarter than everyone, but talk to no one outside of them.
I hate every time I feel compelled to weigh in but like Jesus Christ why does my Senator *need* to endorse a mayor outside of my state when WE ARE ELECTING A GOVERNOR in a few months?!? Like if you need that to justify voting or convince people you’ve got bigger problems in & out of the bubble.
Like good lord, who the hell cares. People in Scotland, Australia, the UK, Canada weighing in on this race. If he wins - they're just setting him up for their purity-ass failure anyway. They're already doing it.
He’ll probably end up being a diet version of Mayor Johnson in Chicago w/ annoying coverage. Especially since opponents keep accurately pointing out he’s promising stuff he can do on the council but not as mayor & isn’t reading budgetary numbers correctly. He can’t run for president or anything. 🤷♂️
Yep - it's the offering free pizza for lunch, and no homework, running as student council. You're going to get hit with reality really quick.
