The US fears russian collapse. Not just what would happen after, but what moscow may do to try and prevent it. That's my number 1, but there are many more.

Basically it's the nukes stupid (no offense, starting an expression). The US wants nuclear deterrence to work as it also relies on it. It doesn't want nuclear superpowers to get invaded or lose, as it is one. That's my 2 and 3.
Thanks, makes sense, but frankly I do not see this as top in the light of countries like NK already having the nukes.
The only thing that can harm the US is the nukes.
Why does Ukraine fight alone? Why did the US bomb Iran? Why does Europe need the US? Why did the US promise security? Why does the West appease russia? It's the nukes stupid. It's the answer to almost any question that's puzzeling you.
I think people disregard nukes because acknowledge their existence freaks them out.
Why does Iran call the US before launching ballistic missiles at their base in Qatar? Why does the US restrict Ukrainian weapons usage into russia? Why does the US restrict targeting (Tu-160 not allowed)? It's the nukes the stupid.
"nukes" is certainly a significant part of it, but it is not "only nukes". trump is harming US security and power much more than iranian nukes ever could. We'll see this once china decides to make its move. "Let them hate, so long as they fear." is not a good strategy long term.
Notice how I didn't bring up individuals once. Just pure power politics. Strategic interests. Pure realism. No fronts. No fiction.
I did of course, that's "real politic", but it is only one way of looking at things, but it is not the only one.
Iran would nuke Israel. The US would have to retaliate. It would be a mess. Very dangerous for the US.
China wants russia to last against Europe until they move on Taiwan, as an insurance. The war weakens and distracts the US ofcourse and makes China alot of money, but it also insures the US can't go nuclear first, because not only China but also russia will simply go nuclear in response.
I do not believe this. Israel has own nukes, and iran is a rational actor. They would live like Pakistan and India. I believe bombing iran was a major misstep in US policy (real politic wise). It tells every nation: build a nuke and us won't touch you. It was in the short term interest of Natanyahu.
Clearly Israel and the US think differently.
What I tried to bring up with trump is that human emotions (especially when it is an autocrat like trump or putin) influence the policy and future of the state quite significantly. I'd even argue much more than nukes.
They're fronts. Actors. Literal tv personalities. Expendable. Insignificant. Grow up. Trump is the perfect president to appease Putin with.
I'm being strict with you because you're so close and I believe in you.
I implicitly implied that russia loosing is russia collapsing. Russian collapse is going to be a huge vacuum bomb with all neighboring countries rushing into the area to secure control of the spoils. > what moscow may do to try and prevent it Like Nukes?
We know what Imperial Japan did when it was put on the clock. We can put russia on the clock. We know how to do it. It's not hard. But we fear the consequences.
