There's a very simple way to put the people smugglers out of business and stop the small boats. Provide meaningful safe routes, process applications/appeals in a timely fashion - you are then in a position to deport those whose application fails and to accept into 'normal' life, those accepted.

As far as audited, published accounts go, it's about the provable evidenced numbers, tracing orders into books, purchases, etc. They're verifiable amounts (and confirmable processes). A co would be free to release inflation adjusted figures as a press release, but not as their audited accounts :)
Richard Oelmann (@richardsedtech.bsky.social) reply parent
No, it's just the numbers, no inflation adjustment, at least not in published accounts. What they might put in a press release is up to them.

I'm, personally, not asking for 'infallible' but if Sam Altman and others want to suggest that it can replace legal/medical professionals, it is not unreasonable to expect the platform to be as good as those professionals (not general public) - it isn't.
Richard Oelmann (@richardsedtech.bsky.social) reply parent
Suggest you look back at the thread I was responding to - suggesting that noone need train in law/medicine because 'AI'... 1. LLMs are not 'AI' 2. If they are making those errors, they are not suitable for those tasks - just as a human making those errors would not be.
Richard Oelmann (@richardsedtech.bsky.social) reply parent
If they comply, and do something illegal, rather than telling DOJ where to go, yes.
Richard Oelmann (@richardsedtech.bsky.social) reply parent
That's the platform that still 'hallucinates' references in academic papers and case law in legal submissions, right?
Richard Oelmann (@richardsedtech.bsky.social) reply parent
Forget the unconsitutional - USSC and GoP don't care. Sue the Drs handing over the data illegally. Professional indemnities/insurances won't cover them for illegal acts. It will soon stop when Drs/lawyers/etc have to pay out personally.
Richard Oelmann (@richardsedtech.bsky.social) reply parent
'Many doctors will comply' Then patients should sue the Doctors, not DJT's 'administration'. If they have handed over data illegally, then professional insurances will not cover them. The first few big number cases will put a stop to others doing it.
