In surveys I teach, every other week, students must write a doc analysis essay with a thesis supported with multiple assigned sources. They have a rubric, and on avg 78% still use AI on all of these papers (& fail). It’s a pain in the ass, & they struggle with multiple choice as well.

Every tyrant in history has sought to stifle criticism of himself and his regime. But America was founded on criticism. American democracy was built on dissent. Every institution, group, firm, or individual that surrenders to Trump’s wanton tyranny invites more of it.

Hotels were great bathroom stops, but too many now require a key card for the lobby lavatory. Yet hotels like Holiday Inn and Hampton still give out free breakfasts for travelers. I act like I stayed the night. I some times eat at my local hotel just for free food in hard times.
