I subbed in a classroom with nonverbal neurodivergent kids 8-10. Had an unannounced active shooter drill. The teachers were not told in advance, so were unsure if it was real. Got everyone to a corner, but some of these kids are impulsive/loud. A teacher said, welp, we’re all dead if this is real. 🥺

It’s such crap!! I worked in Education sales for many years. The only folks that used these materials were home schoolers and private Christian schools. Upsetting to see public school districts buying this propaganda.

My FIL told me that my twins, who were born prematurely and faced months in NICU, that the reason they were born early is that I wasn't "living" right. F@ck him and anyone else that think babies deserve to be hurt or die because of someone's beliefs. Hell just got more crowded.
I grew up Catholic as well, but my dad retired in the South in the '70's. Spare the rod, spoil the child" was the mantra of all my friends' evangelical parents. I heard horror stories of beatings and watched as 2 year olds were taken out of church for being 2 year olds and physically abused.
Kids aging out of the foster care system without an adult helping them come up with a well thought out plan for their future is insane! These are NOT throw away kids, but kids whose parents weren't capable of raising them, for whatever reason. Goodwill can help if he can get to a center.
