Yep. He fought the extension north from Stephen's Green because of TCD. In the end it was just easier to wait for the opposition to fade away. (Small numbers of people can stop stuff - see the level crossing issue which has stopped the upgrade of the green line to Metro status).

Yep If you look at the old Class 423 (4 VEP) it has a lot of doors compared to the trains which replaced it (e.g Electrostar/Class 377).

The problem with compartments is potentially unlimited liability. When I worked in the Gulf briefly I went for medical insurance with a high excess (ยฃ1k per year) but no copays. Proved wise when I collapsed with gallstones. Capped my liability.

Fun software developer thing: we use personal access tokens which remove the need for passwords when pushing or pulling code. The maximum period before one expires is 365 days. Every time mine expires I spend 5 minutes why I can't push/pull and another 10 mins trying to get a new one.
