I think I remember him saying Chicago is next. Are Gov. Pritzker excellent words holding Trump off? The Illinois governor has been really impressive.
If Illinois is to be the crisis point, at least we have the wise leadership of Governor Pritzker. The way he is speaking about this is so well thought out and clear.

I became naturalized in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1988. And the League of Women Voters registered me to vote after the ceremony. It was a good feeling to register right away to complete the citizenship process. I'm assuming this is a part of the GOP effort to shrink the franchise.

I've been thinking about this poem. (I first encountered it listening to the Studs Terkel show on NPR when I lived in Evanston around 1980.) With so many of the masked ICE goons being on the chunky side in their tight tees, when they get to Chicago, it will be the big shoulders vs the big bellies.
I think it may reflect the growing discouragement -- bordering on despair -- since Trump 2 started. Maybe some people are tuning out. Voght and Miller are certainly trying to make that happen. Which actually I find the most motivating thing.

My Google as a kid (in UK) was a complete set of the Encyclopedia Brittanica, 24 or so volumes with index, in its own bookcase. My mum had picked it up at an estate sale. I spent hours on the floor with multiple books open around me, sort of like I end the day with about 30 tabs open on my laptop. 🙂
With each of these GOP townhalls, the seeds of hope are planted that we can come out of this on the other side.
Something blue states will need to explore: how to create cross-state compacts dedicated to a functioning government as the Trump administration walks away from it's responsibilities.
