@holland-tom.bsky.social I help out with a long distance running race along the grand union canal. It's 145 miles non stop. The fastest people do it in 24 hrs, so I do not believe your Scottish bloke walked 110 miles through mud in 19.5 hrs.
And it's not selfish. If you and your siblings want this then do it.
You can always do it later. That's what this family did. They had a lovely party later in the year. My mum died in 2020 and I was really relieved because I didn't have to shake hands with loads of people. I couldn't face it. My step dad organised a "do" nearly a year later.
I just think it would be nice to include some different body shapes, maybe older models too. They want to sell to everyone don't they
I can only give my opinion. You make your own choices. My friend died a few years ago.. Her family had a small burial in one of those field sites. I felt weird, like I hadn't said goodbye to her. I like a "wake", a time to get together, to talk and tell stories about the person who has died.

I wanted our boys to watch some of the films we loved so that they would know what we were on about when we said stuff like"an offer he couldn't refuse" or "don't call me Shirley" or "these are not the drones you are looking for' etc
I was never afraid of any of the stories. My oma told me that some children were terrified.
The trouble is that lots of the jokes won't make sense without the cultural knowledge. The plots are still great but they won't get the full thing that we get from being of his generation
Oh my goodness no, I can't imagine young girls loving the enid blyton private girls school books that I loved. But maybe I am wrong. Maybe they would love them for the escapism as I did. Something real different from my own life
