The original point -giving $500/teacher/month. That’s a lot per district. Many companies would prey upon these funds offering products that are not proven for example to build literacy. That’s what I mean about return on investment. Many snake oils being peddled for education $.
Exactly DOE helps fund schools. Even making property taxes a bigger $ source, localities have various values. Rural Va won’t have tax base of northern Va yet supplies cost similar. $300/teacher/month in discretionary spending = millions for a district & no guarantee return on investment
Agree, but doubt it will ever happen. With DOE stripping funding from public schools, I believe it’s going to get worse.
Teachers are also paying higher utilities, rents, grocery and insurance bills. Even if teachers are willing to use their own $, there may not be any left over at the end of the month.

Costco’s hearing aid dept is very good - both quality and price. With my insurance plan, seeing & hearing aren’t covered items.
I’ll happily be like Europe & pay more taxes if it means more housing at lower costs, universal healthcare, better public transit, free higher education, living wages for all workers, better programs for our vulnerable populations. But that’s not what these tariffs mean
I wouldn’t see MAGA gynecologists or take children to MAGA pediatricians. So, yes, MAGA therapists would be out too. Support for Kennedy & his health ideas do not make sense to my medical desires. So yes, any MAGA healthcare provider is one I’d avoid.
