Might be tricky to coordinate considering a massive swath of Trumplandia would separate the two parts.

The pathological NEED that US journalism has to make "both sides" flawed in equivalent ways is simply killing any hope for a peaceful republic.
Thomas Knapp (chemiclord) (@tkocreations.com) reply parent
Trump would find a way to fail a blood test at this point.

I'd argue that these dribbling racist fuckwits found their avatars in Farage, Tice, and Badenoch rather than the other way around.

So how should we fight the narrative that Democrats want to "punish success?"
Thomas Knapp (chemiclord) (@tkocreations.com) reply parent
And what happens when that "robust progressive media ecosystem" inevitably disappoints its viewer base? Because THAT is the failure point of every single liberal media outlet that has tried to emerge for literally decades.
Thomas Knapp (chemiclord) (@tkocreations.com) reply parent
From my experience, #1 and #2 eventually winds up being different in some way, and then leads to the answer in #3 being, "Absolutely not." And then the problem (and reason) for why a "liberal media apparatus" doesn't already exist. It's not from lack of trying. It's because it's impossible.
Thomas Knapp (chemiclord) (@tkocreations.com) reply parent
Whenever I hear this sentiment about a "liberal news apparatus" I ask three questions. 1) What message do you think this apparatus should advance? 2) What message would it ACTUALLY advance? 3) Would you accept the answer in #2?

This is objectively dangerous nonsense from a person with immense privilege. Collapse of empires is inevitable, it may even be necessary, but it NEVER winds up particularly good for those who are caught in it as the walls come tumbling down.
Thomas Knapp (chemiclord) (@tkocreations.com) reply parent
Everything about Newsom's policy is entirely "meh" at best. What is sad is that all he needed to do is get a social media team to post like Trump does on Truth Social for left-leaning BlueSky (and from many different walks of life) to crown him the "fighter" they wanted to see.

It's unreal that in 2025, we have to be telling people that vaccines are good and that slavery was bad. The Trump administration is evil. Fuck every one of them who enable and encourage his shitty agenda while pushing their own selfish, traitorous ones.

The only (relatively bloodless) way out of this is indeed the people emphatically rejecting Trump, the GOP, and their power structure.

Thomas Knapp (chemiclord) (@tkocreations.com) reply parent
There's a degree that Democrats are GOING to suck when it comes to identity. The tent is so damn big (and frankly has to be that big) that finding a consensus on the overarching identity is either going to be A) impossible or B) so generically vague that it will mean next to nothing.
Thomas Knapp (chemiclord) (@tkocreations.com) reply parent
Democratic voters are not a monolith is a MAJOR part of the issue why there isn't a "Fox News of the left." Once we hear a message we don't want to hear, we turn off that outlet, rather than guzzle it down uncritically like right-leaning audiences do.
