These ghouls always try to eliminate two categories of gun deaths from the argument: 1. Suicide 2. Gang violence So the idea is people who die in those categories don't count, apparently. And once you eliminate them, gun deaths aren't all THAT bad. The mind reels.

They're not cowards. That implies they don't want this, but they're too scared to speak up against it. They're framing it this way because they themselves are fascists, who want fascism. That goes for the billionaires who own the media, and for the Republican Party themselves.

I liked how every election post-mortem was "Democrats need to do more of [X]," and it turned out [X] was precisely what the person saying it wanted them to do. Hate trans people? "Democrats need to throw trans people under the bus." Bernie fan? "Democrats need to listen to progressives more."

If you win: "See, this is the kind of messaging Democrats need to engage people!" If you lose: "Why was this dork talking about scavenger hunts instead of the actual issues? This is exactly why Democrats can't win!" No offense, but I just want to be sure I can be smug no matter the outcome.

Voters didn't fail a political party. Voters failed America, Americans, immigrants, and people worldwide. Each individual got to make a choice. There was a better choice and a worse choice. There was a choice that would save 14 million lives, and a choice that would lead to 14 million deaths.

Because they keep winning! If you are an evil person, and you learn that the more evil you are the better the world treats you, why wouldn't you just go all-in on evil?

Then they'll have "reason" to start shooting. The regime will drum up "People are attacking cops in the street, folks" excuses, and things will get worse. I'm not saying this shouldn't happen, because fuck the Gestapo. I'm just saying it's not going to improve things.

Sometimes you see things in movies that you know can't be real. I was watching one the other night and I was like wait, there is no such thing as a RoboCop, or Detroit. Pure fiction.

Everything is absurd nonsense that means nothing. That’s what we survive and call “living”. But if you live where people work toward making that absurd nonsense actively evil for everyone else, it’s fine to fantasize about putting those people into a woodchipper. Thanks for enjoying arbys

this is a letter to the editor from a high school track runner who came in second to a trans girl in a race. her state house rep in maine started talking about it. so she wrote this: www.pressherald.com/2025/05/14/r...

Rep. Laurel Libby, R-Auburn, recently used my second-place finish in the 1,600-meter run, and that of my teammate in the 800-meter run, to malign Soren Stark-Chessa, the trans-identified athlete who finished first. One of the reasons I chose to run cross-country and track is the community: Teammates cheering each other on, athletes from different schools coming together, and the fact that personal improvement is valued as much as, if not more than, the place we finish. Last Friday, I ran the fastest 1,600-meter race I have ever run in middle school or high school track and earned varsity status by my school’s standards. I am extremely proud of the effort I put into the race and the time that I achieved. The fact that someone else finished in front of me didn’t diminish the happiness I felt after finishing that race. I don’t feel like first place was taken from me. Instead, I feel like a happy day was turned ugly by a bully who is using children to make political points. We are all just kids trying to make our way through high school. Participating in sports is the highlight of high school for some kids. No one was harmed by Soren’s participation in the girls’ track meet, but we are all harmed by the hateful rhetoric of bullies, like Rep. Libby, who want to take sports away from some kids just because of who they are. Anelise Feldman Freshman, Yarmouth High School Yarmouth

I'm sorry to say, but we've seen the last Democratic Senate majority of our lifetimes.

I think it'll be a fun thing if I just reply to this thread a bunch at arbitrary times.

Maybe it's gauche to quote a guy at himself, but I think of this little pithy quote from 12 years ago a lot. It makes me laugh, and I thank him for writing it.

And yeah, I know that's splitting hairs a little bit. But if you click on "Posts," you won't see a single original post except the post saying I won't post again, and (as promised) some reposts. So I dunno. I reply sometimes.
