In light of today’s SCOTUS decision, every person of color with an accent in the US should probably carry proof of citizenship with them at all times - while working and everywhere they go. If you don’t want to be in a detention facility awaiting a friend or relative to bring it.

He didn't answer anything and that's the problem. All you people focusing on emotion over rationality are causing a breakdown of society. You can sit there talking shut about bots as you had no answer either but it doesn't make you smart.

Told you, you would rather have Farage because you feel you would be stronger outside of a union. A finger is not as strong as a fist and if you think that separating them would give you a stronger punch I can't help you to understand.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
Anyway, are you asking for worse than the Tories or do you not think that better is a good start, not 100 percent of what you want but a start?
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
Nope. You are determined to usher in Reform as you are the voter.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
Do you? Maybe you could form "Your" own party like everyone else is apparently doing and hope that this keeps Farage out of power.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
It's the least worst and we don't live in our own make-believe design your own party fantasy, so in the real world you call it the better option.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
I love the complexity of that sentence
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
No, you're out for moral purity in an opaque world full of grey areas and this will get us Farage. Thank you
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
My pension is also used in a way I would rather it wasn't but tell me another Party likely to win power that doesn't take money?
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
I like this. I would say that more direct action is needed but footballified politics means that people aren't up for reasoning. I'm sort of resigned to watching the Left and Right tear Country apart in an effort to get their version of purity. Sad.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
Ok George. Are the bots in the room with you now? The problem with social media is that people pick a side and refuse to think, this is demoralising for me as I used to like intelligent conversation. Unfortunate for us all and very Orwellian.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
Yes there is lobbying but if you think that's bigger than the Union funding (which was also hated) then you're stuck on conspiracy theories and I can't help with that. You are believing what you read over what you see (people trying to handle a difficult situation carefully) and this lost me.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
Ok George. Be sure to vote for whoever enables Farage and then complain about inaction on Palestine. If only you'd take your head out of your emotion you would see that Netanyahu is listening to nobody but himself, hence the ongoing diplomatic efforts.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
PIP cuts got voted down by Labour. Why are you still going on about that?
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
I do but there is limited reach. I suggest a better coordinated response would be of use, using their own propaganda tool as a vehicle to disrupt their growth and bad behaviour. Also for surveillance. That's how a battle is usually fought.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
You're an idiot George. Where do you want to house unprocessed people prior to giving them the right to find housing? Do you understand the problem this causes and do you understand that the Tories did this on purpose/ negligently?
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
I know but how do you fight someone from outside of the boxing ring?
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
And because this is Blue sky and we are the lilly livered left, you will block me and flounce off in an emotional hissy fit (like when we all left Twitter) and then you'll stick to your opinion without thinking about what I said. Unless you accept that you might not be 100% correct
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
I love Fantasy Politics. When you make them form a single party, let me know and I'll vote for them, until then I'll have to face reality like the rest of us.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
Am I wrong?
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
The press is set against Labour and will paint a negative narrative around everything they do despite cheering Tories for 14 years. THEY DON'T WANT LABOUR IN POWER and are using your emotions to achieve this. You're not alone but it's a choice to be fooled by them.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
Starmer said that without integration we risk becoming an Island of strangers. Would you prefer no integration? You should stop being fed by social media/right wing press and start choosing your meals. These are the same people who promote Farage and yet you think they're being honest with you. 🤷🏾♂️
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
PIP hasn't changed as Labour voted it down despite the Tories and Reform calling for it. I work in the field and hate the misreporting of this. It's very clear what the agenda is but you seem not to be clued up enough to notice. Sad to see the UK go this way
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
Not true. If you are a pensioner on a low income you get Pension Credit. Also the triple lock meant that State Pensions rose greatly, outstripping the cut to WFA. I'm telling you friend, the Daily Mail isn't your pal.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
You didn't answer the question
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent

Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
Ok so I managed the Hardship Fund and when the Winter Fuel Changes happened (to stop giving welfare to the wealthy) we went out and made sure older people on low incomes weren't affected (as requested by Labour). You are stuck on emotion train and are trusting right wing newspapers too much
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
Have you not yet understood how it works? You will end up Farage if you don't support the viable alternative. As you hate everyone, who do you think the viable alternative is?
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
I left Twitter but I now realise that I left the room because I didn't like the occupants or the owner, however, that's the room that everyone is in so it means I'm more in a room of people that agree with me. It's not the way to fight these fact fearing people who listen to Reform

Angela Rayner accidentally pays less tax than she should have, resigns, and the media gives her hell. Nigel Farage deliberately pays less tax than he should have, and the media gives him a free pass. That, right there, is the problem.

Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
I think Farage and the media have strayed into sedition. Sedition is speech or conduct that encourages people to rebel against the established order, often inciting discontent or insurrection against the government. Nobody can tell me I'm wrong.

"The Liberals literally went into coalition with the Conservatives. Maybe you should also look up Labour history" Is in no way rude and maybe it just triggered you as you realised the nonsense of your statement. It was emotive and lacking in substance and the UK is dying as a result of these things
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
I do but you don't. You claim Labour (the party of the NHS) was never liberal, yet fail to see the irony of the Lib Dems going full Tory. Try not to be patronising as not everyone putting a point to you, is an idiot or due your judgement. Try understanding the point made and see your irony.

I don't understand why Farage's vile policy is Starmer's fault, it isn't Labour policy. Labour is doing what it said it would, clearing the claims backlog, working with France and other countries, stopping the dangerous dinghy crossing and deporting those here illegally. The tone's a bit off though.
Claire Savage (UK not USA) (@csav55.bsky.social) reposted reply parent
I'm angry too but with Farage and the media who created him and continue to treat him like the LOTTO, for the life of me I can't see how Farage's vile uttering are Starmer's fault.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
Why don't you mention that this is Farage policy? It should be the headline
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
You're assuming but you're wrong. I voted for Remain but I recognise that Brexit broke the UK. Entering that fractious situation while the country is a tinderbox seems to me to be a bad idea and I'm just trying to be rational. Rejoin is a longer term endeavour and we are where we are unfortunately
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
No, I'm rational and understand that the UK isn't.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
This is my point exactly. Rationale says we should be members of the EU but we aren't in a rational country anymore. It's why we can't have the Brexit argument.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
You appear to know very little. We literally have divergence on the illegal Trump tariffs. Not that this is a good thing as this is a consequence of the stupid Brexit and the fragmentation of the EU market (including UK)

SM/CU leaves us as rule takers thereby making Brexit pointless and making us look ridiculous, every time they suggest any changes the media rip them a new one and PR will give Farage some power. Not so simple
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
So you're saying that Starmer should talk the Country down and say how shit our position is, damaging all sorts of market confidence and investment, in the hope that we can be pitied by the EU. It's not as simple as you suggest.

Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
What normally happens to people with no right to be here? They get deported. This is just relaying the facts as Farage wants to claim there is a massive problem to stoke hatred. The problem is that people are now very emotional so take this as something else.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
Who suffers after you buy this narrative that allows fascism to take over? It's us. You are therefore against us and on the side of fascism
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
That's the narrative you've been fed but that's not the reality. Netanyahu couldn't care less what people think of his genocide and the Tories left an asylum mess which needs fixing but Farage is stoking hatred. Reality
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
The only focus is Farage who did something. Keir Starmer did nothing so that is not something to complain about. I get what you're saying but the focus here is Farage who is stoking up hatred.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
You should have mentioned @skynewsrss.bsky.social to see how they view their own coverage and subsequent near promotion of Farage.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
I think you're completely wrong to focus on anything other than Farage in this saga. Starmer not doing something is not the story. If you keep doing what you're doing to Labour you will generate voter apathy or split votes and that will serve the neo-fascist Reform Ltd. (Limited liability company).
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
Although you're being ridiculous in your opening statement, you at least propose replacing him but fail to say with whom.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
Who will win when he has that downfall?
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
It's such a ridiculous position as nothing but absolute pure ultra left is good enough and they would rather have Farage than Centre Left. Infuriating
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
This is not policy it is sentiment and you should listen more carefully. Then again, we are living in a very emotional era so maybe if he says things to feed your version of hate you will be happy with him.
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
Yes but having an argument about Rejoin/Stay out, against a backdrop of an increasingly race divided UK, is not the way to beat Farage
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
Because America doesn't like people of colour to be in power
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
This whole attitude is boring and I can't understand how you don't get it. Brexit happened and we are now managing the outcomes, that was Tory policy. We can't just look weak and beg the EU as we would get a shit deal and we need to stabilise before any reapproach. Does this make sense now?
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
What do you suggest he does with the majority and what are the likely consequences?
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
Brexit already happened so Starmer can only manage what we have. Entering a new debate will only serve to allow Farage to spout more lies and false promises. Do you understand this?
Alex Andreou (@sturdyalex.bsky.social) reposted reply parent
We should try to bridge the gap, instead of picking on each other. Constantly arguing with folks on the same side effectively, (not just on EU-UK relations, but SO many issues) who agree on direction and destination, but suggest a different route or pace, while ACTUAL FASCISM is rising, is daft. 3/3
Barry C (@true-man.bsky.social) reply parent
They remind me of the anti-Labour party, super left wing crew over here in the UK. Their purism means that they would rather have a despot than an imperfect Centre Left party in power. Ridiculous position to hold but they won't listen.
