I drove on BW parkway and my entire years of living in DC, since 695 was built I have NEVER not slowed down and usually stopped for traffic at East Capital, until today. At 11am on a Sunday. People are usually heading to BBQ for Labor Day at anacostia park or heading to the marinas. Nobody was out.
Business at DC restaurants and bars and the like has plummeted. To whatever degree crime is "down," if any, it's because people in MD and VA are literally too scared to come into DC, and those in DC are being terrified into staying home and off the streets as much as possible.

The default speed limit in DC is 25MPH unless otherwise posted. The streets here are heavily residential and cannot accommodate high speed chases. The federales are out of control and will get people killed.
