there's an NB contestant on Taskmaster Australia S3 and everyone's normal about it and uses they/them. there's even some non-offensive jokes about it. honestly based
also tbh Huntress feels like "only play this if you're a real ARPG pervert and normal stuff doesn't get you off anymore" parry timings, rolling in and out of whirlwinds, mix of melee and ranged. too complicated for me ngl.

I think about "that guy" almost every single day of my life
headlights are like the easy ice-cold take. but i also think general night lighting is way too bright. streetlights. LEDs and blinking lights on every device. i bought a headlamp from amazon and had to return it just because it was blindingly bright FOR ME.

i played like 30 minutes of Dishonored 2 and got bored. but this track (heard years ago in a D&D campaign) has stuck with me forever. the soundscape of the synth-y sounds, creepy piano, and drums is so unique.

and right now, that means going through the 20+ doors on this scene alone, and removing the annoying "door opening" sound from each one
i'm not gonna sit here and say *everything* in these modules is bad, but the overuse of rooves + lighting + effects + sounds + etc/etc/etc gimmicks LITERALLY detracts from the experience more often than enhancing it, for me. so many fancy features, and the end result is less the sum of its parts.
the professionally-made pf2e foundry modules sometimes remind me of those Dubai restaurants where they just throw $100 of fancy ingredients together into something that, actually, looks and tastes like shit

aight getting 9/9 Gold, 12/12N, and 7/12H was fun but 👋 i wanted to try do CMs (✅), relive some MoP nostalgia (✅), and maybe prove to myself that I could still be decent at the game even on a new class (✅). mission accomplished. also this all cost $0 so can't complain really

we're about to hit Peak Spy in the next arc 🤔 I'm thinking a lot about how exactly to run it so it doesn't just become 4 bored pirates going from conversation to conversation but I think I'm working through it and have some cool ideas now
also in Act 1 & 2 i did try my best to inject some sidequests with "basically just go to this area and fight stuff" objectives. neither Blackblood Cay nor the Cult of the Eye were in my original outline for Act 1/2 at all lol so I'm sure that'll happen again in Acts 3 and 4 at some point 🤔
but, at the very least, I can definitely say that the "you need to be subtle and you can't blow your cover" thing won't last for........ too much longer. Relatively soon in this campaign the gloves will come off and I think the tone from that point on will be more natural for these 4 PCs

I mean, ok. There are urban D&D staples too. Cultist hideout, abandoned manor, secret dungeon underneath a building. But it feels hard to nail the pacing between them so it's not just 8 talking scenes in a row. 🤔

in campaigns with wilderness or travel, there are very easy staples for meeting enemies on the road, ruined/dangerous/occupied areas but if i want to have an investigation in the city, it feels sooooo much harder to inject fun encounters

it's actually inspired me a bit wrt to my Pathfinder games 👀 i've been a little hand-hold-y in the past and just letting the players........ fail...... is something i will try to allow more for 🤔
I talk a lot of shit about Avowed, but I will say this: I love that the game actually gave me a serious consequence for failing to investigate things properly in Act 2, and I'm gonna remember that outcome for a looooooong time
anyway my sub's expiring in 4 days and I'm still on the fence on whether I'm gonna renew it's been fun at times, but also boring or frustarting enough at times to instantly remind me why i quit
thought my dps was quite mid while in the raid, but looking at logs, ele shamans are just low and i was 5-10 ilvls behind everyone else. on ilvl% i was actually completely blasting lol
they also hadn't quite understood which abilities should and shouldn't target healers (or balanced it for 10man) so you can get situations where e.g. 2 MCs or 2 Fears go out and it just hits both your healers. which feels a bit like "well, bad RNG, wipe"
Heart of Fear's also a........... weird raid. there's some interesting ideas, but a bit too much jank. In just 6 bosses, you have 2 mind controls, 1 vehicle boss, 1 boss that's just adds and CC, a non-tankable kiting boss where you target different bodyparts....
we didn't kill it by 3%, so dropped it to normal, but it was fun. it was after that that raid got....... shittier. a perfect example of how WoW raiding is fun for a bit, but then has a HUGE inflection point where it can very quickly become very unfun
actually had a lot of fun progging Heroic Vizier huge raid-wide damage, but there are three DR bubbles, but each can only have three people. Phase 2 you only get two bubbles, so 4 people have to immune / big CD and then there's a bullet hell mechanic, MCs, and a burn phase with everything combined
i actually don't particularly care that much. i'm truly not a loot-oriented gamer, and I like +1s specifically because the loot gets shared equally. i almost didn't even roll on the off-hand but, c'mon mate. we all know what just happened. 🙂

There is one road circling the island and it's called "Route 1". It's above 20 degrees maybe 8 days of the year. The population of the whole country is smaler than Hamilton Ontario. It's basically perfect.

WoW players can't see a design problem directly in front of their own face unless it is "my class needs to be buffed", or "questing should be faster and easier for me specifically"
