Disney's problem with Star Wars is mainly that people want to see characters they care about. With TV shows, it can take multiple seasons to care about characters. Because they only do 1 or 2 seasons, it's hard to care Ahsoka was successful because they had characters people cared about

Threads fumbled by priortizing influencers just like Instagram. I get why they'd want to do that at the start, but after a year, it becomes tiresome seeing the same "Am I the only one who eats peanut butter & jelly sandwiches?" type posts for engagement.

Greed is why this feature isn't more widespread. Publishers simply don't want to give up potential sales on other platforms by giving consumers access to multiple licenses. It's going to take Xbox completely revising their licensing agreements to make it more enticing for publishers to support it

Not having one doesn't detract from anything either. Souls games have their reputation for a reason (I don't consider Sekiro as souls game since it has fundamentally different gameplay) There's plenty of other games to play that do have pause menus to ask for one that doesn't to add one

In Elden Ring it's less common, but in Dark Souls 1, 2, & 3 you'd be invaded by other players fairly often. They even had certain areas dedicated to invasions. I never got around to playing Bloodborne or Demon's Souls so I don't know how it is for those games
I think it becomes an issue in PVP. If you can just turn on easy mode, then you can just rush through bosses/areas to get high level armor & weapons which defeats the purpose. A solution would be to disable online mode in easy mode. But I'm not a game developer so idk how simple that would be
Could Souls games use a pause feature? Sure. Do they need one? Nope. Glad we can clear this up 👍🏽
