The library and access to search engines was a great benefit of working at the state psych hospital - which existed bc it was a residency site for many Dartmouth psychiatrists in training.
It's awful that those resources are too expensive to allow off-campus/alumni use. It's 2+ hours to either of my alma maters.
A friend has a peach tree or two in her yard. They're not prolific producers this far north, but I think it's neat they can semi-thrive here. Plenty of Macoun apples, my favorite fruit, in about a month, I hope - if the summer's drought didn't stunt their growth.

I printed this little thing I wrote last week and showed it to her at the end of session. She was touched, and then asked if she could keep it. Hours later, I still feel like The Grinch when his heart went from 3 sizes too small to 3 sizes too large. It really is the little things that matter.

Conversely, I have been thought smarter than I was because I generally kept my mouth shut. However, I did absorb a lot of knowledge by being quiet amongst the really smart folks, so I did become more intelligent in those areas.

A migration path for Canada Geese passes near/around work, and they like to rest up in the field out back. First flocks came through a couple weeks ago, and there were several last week. None yet this week. The really big flocks (hundreds, I'd guess, they make a RACKET) will be Oct/Nov.
