In 2010, the Court ruled that restrictions on political spending infringed on a corporation's "free speech" rights. The same logic should compel the Court to rule against state censorship of vanity plates, but this Court has proven to be so untethered to logic that I expect another disappointment.

I think the editor is anticipating that the Senate and House will continue rolling over like the submissive weaklings they are and allow Trump to do whatever he wants regardless of what the Constitution says. Their strategy seems to be, let the courts rein him in, if they can.
