I trained him by having him wear it around the house and playing find my while calling his name and giving him a treat. It didn’t take that long and works 90% of the time (he is a cat afterall).
Plus, you don’t want to be standing outside in your PJs in the dark yell whispering at your dog to stop.
PS. It makes it so I don’t have to shout at him when I let him outside.
So I don’t know if this will work, but I have an AirTag collar for my cat. It makes the lilting sound when I do “find my.” I’ve trained him to come to that sound. He hears it and comes running. Maybe that can be your next challenge!!

I looked into duct units during that time too because central AC is so expensive. Window one worked though.
Would love. Chocolate bakba is one of my favorite things. So, I’d be down with this.
Sooo expensive! Double the cost of window ones. I had old crank windows so couldn’t put a window one in. I eventually got new windows and was able to put a window one in.
Luckily I only had to use it maybe once a year for a week or two but it SUCKED having to empty that so often. Plus it was SOOOOOO LOUD.
The police would have said as much in their report to the news. They would have said “after leaving the scene, the car was involved…”
I’ve been very lucky that way.
It was crazy and as a teacher you know I’m judging them. “You should be in bed! Don’t you have school tomorrow?”
Lived in Dubai too and malls were open until 1 am usually b/c people would hang out at the mall to avoid the heat. You’d see entire families walking the mall w/little kids at midnight.
Same with Panama. We’d walk the malls on the weekends. I’d have to bring a sweater everywhere though b/c they all blast AC on HIGH. In school, I’d wear leggings under my pants and students were wearing sweatshirts. I’d open the windows to warm up.
The thing with places that are hot and humid all the time is that they do have AC everywhere. You also acclimate to it somewhat. But it does take time. You just get used to being sweaty 24/7. It did help my pollen allergies and my skin and hair were fabulous.
I lived in Panama for four years and all of us new to Panama complained about how tired we were the whole time. Seriously, was in bed by 8 pm every night for the first time ever. It was the humidity and heat combined that just wiped you out. Your body spends so much energy trying to keep cool.
One of my schoolmates from the year above me was driving on one of those windy roads and a logging truck going the other way lost a log right as they passed each other and she was killed. It freaks me out any time I’m near those trucks.

I grew up in northern cal and we’d always get those RVs driven by retirees on the two-lane roads during the summer. About 3 hours of curvy roads trying to find that one pass lane we might be able to get around them. Also, logging trucks.
I just get wiped out by it. The heat and humidity exacerbates everything.
I started grad school during the heat wave that was 45 minutes away and would leave work at 3 to go and the first time I was stuck in stopped traffic on the 4 lane freeway in the no-AC car in 100 degree heat, I bought a new car that weekend….with AC.
My town has a Christmas tractor parade through town every year!
Ugh. That sucks. I just can’t sleep when it’s hot. I can manage but I will be cranky.

San Diego is usual okay. But that summer sucked. I didn’t have AC in my car either and my apartment had zero cross breeze. They’d do brownouts so we couldn’t even use fans. I used to go to the grocery store or double feature movie to get some relief. It was awful. Sitting in my underwear sweating.
When I lived in San Diego, I didn’t have AC. So got one of those portable ones that you have to empty. During the same, I would have to empty that sooo often—at least every hour or two because it would fill up so fast.
Not only that, if the media won’t actually platform Dems and Dem work, a media strategy doesn’t matter. People think you can just tell networks what to cover or who to platform. These people are just such simpletons.
I’m so sorry. Had to do that for a 5 year old kitty I had. It’s always tough. But you are making the right decision. God. It’s so tough though. 💔

I always come back to a scene in Marvelous Mrs. Maisel where she goes to sleep after her husband, puts on all her creams & curlers in her hair; then gets up before him every morning to beautify herself, goes back to bed, then pretends to wake up as if she looks like that after a night of sleep.
When they say “real,” they mean real like the women they see on TV/film or commercials with makeup, fake breasts, dyed hair all meant to look “natural” but is definitely not real.
They do get paid. They get part time paid rather than full-time deployed paid and benefits which would kick in. They aren’t doing this for free. Please don’t spread misinformation. It doesn’t help. The ISSUE is they haven’t been paid yet. Usually under 30 days, they get paid 7-10 days after.
