I think the fundamental problem is that they do have a platform, and it's main plank is disempowering working class Americans. They're trying to find the vocabulary to obscure that platform.

Now that I am home, here are my post-completion thoughts on the #Zcavengerhunt. First off: it was much more fun than I thought it would be, and that was largely due to how well it was organized, how it encouraged participants to talk to each other, and the spirit of the event.
