When challenged about why they were in the office while clearly unwell (for their own wellbeing + sharing germs) each said ‘it’s ok, I’ve taken pseudoephadrine, I’m fine’. I recognise the ‘soldier on’ mentality I had pre-Covid, but have we learned nothing??? It’s so easy for these guys to WFH.
An observation…I’ve just had most of the last 2 weeks away from work due to illness. I probably stopped being infectious ages ago, but stayed away due to a lingering cough and not wanting to risk sharing germs. So when I returned yesterday, I was disappointed to experience 3 people clearly sick…

You should do due deligence on candidates for local govt (also school board, liquor trust etc). Not all of them declare their affliations or beliefs in short candidate statements that comes with voting forms. Anyone who not selected by political party may still stand as independent #AoNZPol #nzpol

We had to build a new garage so I took the opportunity to add a laundry in the back. I also got to design the layout - using reused cabinetry, but it is perfect for our purposes. It makes me smile every time I go in there.

There used to be a brunch box service in our neighbourhood that would deliver fresh bread, bacon, eggs, cream cheese and baked treats at around 8am on a Saturday. So bougie but man did it feel good rolling out of bed, picking up the box and cooking an epic breakfast.

That’s more sewing than this aunty has done in eons! But I’m glad to see my dad’s blanket getting a second life rather than hiding away in the back of my linen cupboard. Now the question is…what should I do with mine???
But wait, that’s not all…there was still fabric leftover so she now also has a matching pillowcase for her next camp
But to cement my aunty of the year standings I added a secret pocket AND went on to use the leftover fabric to make a drawstring bag to store/carry it in
So I lined it with softer fabric, and bound it with ribbon binding to prevent any stray tickles

My extreme-carnivore husband was dubious before we got there, but still raves about our meal at Forest, and has since replicated the beer braised kumara with marmite cream more than once!

The construction is almost complete, and we look forward to getting some friendly new neighbours who don’t object to the frequent smells of bbq wafting over! 🤞
Our suburb knows better than most about the tensions of rapid intensification in previously single-home-per-section suburbs, but kudos to this team for showing it can be done considerately. (They also fixed our wobbly fence for free!)
And then it’s the little details…like yesterday they frosted the lower section of the windows on our side so the people inside can still get light and see out but gives us some privacy (it looks across into my bedroom).
They designed and positioned them to limit the worst of the shading impacts on us (prev developer proposed MUCH worse), and the layout means only one window per unit looking in our direction.
We’ve been determined to be ok with the 13 new townhouses being squeezed onto one section next to us - people need homes! But it’s a big change from the privacy we had before… But I have to admit that the developer has been much more considerate than I had expected he’d be…

I did it this time last year after some very heavy rain. The first day (so much uphill) was fine, but I wouldn’t recommend doing the extra hike to the summit as that was very slippery and the trail condition was awful. Second day of riding had some slippery sections but was fine.
I’m thankful that your garnde and trank are thankful but you’ve broken all the internet rules by overlooking simply the best Singing in the Rain gif of all time!
