Unfortunately, as long as they have notices up telling the public they're on camera, there isn't much to be done about it. While they're a private company and can put cameras up if they choose, they're also publicly accessible & can't stop you making your own privacy by wearing a mask and sunnies.
I can't actually remember clearly anymore when I last went to New World without a mask, sunnies and a hat. They can put up as many facial recognition cameras as they like; they won't be getting mine!

We used to be the best at both. In my relatively brief stint in the RNZAF a few decades ago, I was personally involved in rebuilding the Fijian airport and my BIL, an officer in the Army, was a large player in the Bosnian peacekeeping. Far better use for our military, in my opinion.
I wouldn't have nearly as large an issue with this if we could be guaranteed it would go toward becoming a world leader in search 'n' rescue and peacekeeping. That is NOT Judith Collins' plan.

Going back to this horrifies me. Back in the 'boomer' days, it took me 2 years just to complete my School Cert. To pass SC, you had to pass English, Maths, and a science or language, which, for a person with undiagnosed Dyscalculia, was impossible. Even with 98% English BOTH years it wasn't enough.
