Neither really because you may need other candidates this far out as potentials … being super popular in the first 9 days of your political career doesn’t mean you’re gonna win a primary or win the whole thing over a year later.
In reality you need a mix of old, young, and middle-aged, experienced and newbies with fresh ideas.

Yeah he’s not the one crying. It’s the media glomming onto the new “outsider” and the narrative they want to create that establishment Dems are out to get him. Platner himself isn’t shying away from a primary.
Do you understand my issue is the author framing this as Schumer specifically being hostile to Platner, instead of generally recruiting Dem governors to run for Senate which is normally what happens?
The article claims Schumer is specifically trying to run Platner off and stop him and if the author has evidence for that he can offer it.
Nothing in the article or the linked sources demonstrates Schumer was trying to "interfere" in the first place. I know we all love to shit on Schumer, but maybe just explain why you like Platner. And Schumer can either stay out of it or "clear the field" for your guy but that's 2 diff things.

Pretty much this. Dems impeached Trump twice, DOJ under Biden indicted Trump 3x and got a conviction in one case, and spent a year warning about threats to democracy. Voters rejected them anyway in 24 and this website is a constant litany of “it’s Dems’ fault / do something! / no not that!” 1/2

I’m likely missing something here, but I hear a lot of “money in politics bad” (not you, Charles, just generally) when Dems can’t just unilaterally disengage on fundraising.
Is the problem that the fundraising emails are annoying and manipulative as hell? Or is there some suggestion of fraud corruption or donations going to non-Dems? Look I hate those fucking emails and texts but I’m not sure how outraged I’m supposed to be here.
