Clearly it's not as Hamas keeps expressing willingness to negotiate an end to the conflict and Israel is refusing to enter negotiations. Israel literally ended the previous ceasefire in order to avoid starting the previously-agreed upon phase 2 that involved having negotiations to end the war.

But your claim - that withdrawing EU/US support wouldn't cause Israel to lose, or at least shouldn't be assumed to - requires both capability *and* willingness to jump.
Who assumed this or said it was a given? US & EU should withdraw support regardless, but in terms of expecting this will put Israel in difficulty one needs only think it's *probable* to talk about as people do.

For months, @ichamza.bsky.social's family were told by the IDF - warned, threatened, choose your verb - to abandon their home, even though the "strategic target" had left by May. Pressuring civilians to leave their homes is not a kindness. Doing it for months on end just terrorizes them in advance.
But the more everything revolves around paid jobs that take up most of everyone's time, the less bandwidth there is for other social organising, and that's bad. TBH I don't think work is the only problem here - entertainment takes up the rest of the time in places working hours aren't insane.
IDK about boomers but I think that's another societal issue which is that no breathing room is left for that kind of nonprofit social stuff to exist. Running a club is work. When the market economy was less efficient there were under-employed ppl with the bandwidth to do it: housewives, retirees...
