This should be the lead story in all major national news outlets. Public health people prefer to stay out of the limelight unless there is no other choice. I can’t overstate how bad things have to be for 9 former CDC directors to band together and pen an op-ed in the NYT warning the entire country.

As with all Trump's irrational bullshit, this'll get fried in the lower courts, he'll go whining to SCOTUS and six of those dopes will tell us all he's perfectly right. Far right, in fact.

Dude. I think most people can manage to pick out their own mugs without a lot of coaching. Can't you just go back to giving us recipes and telling us how and why they work? 'Cause that's where all y'all are a bunch of Vikings.

About damn time he started rotting from within. The chemistry's been there for it all along.

Uh, buddy? "Deepest darkest Africa" is a flat-out racist construction. Good God. When the President of the United States regularly shows himself to be a bigger dope than even I am, things have gotten so far out of balance there can be no doubt that America's screwed irreparably. Just plain gone.

Was there a mistranslation somewhere along the line? "Deal with public order issues"? Wouldn't "create public order issues" be more accurate?

I'm now 71 years old, an age I didn't really expect to attain but whatever. For more than 40 years now, beginning with the seduction of my generation by Reaganomics (and frankly, the non-stop use of cocaine by yuppies) I've predicted that no real progress could be made until we (boomers) were gone.

Nine-year-old with a behavioral disorder, seventy-nine-year-old with a behavioral disorder, what's the diff really except that a nine-year-old can't be POTUS?

In all my years on this planet I've never known anybody to "pote" water anyway. It's a whole lot of hype.

We’re witnessing so much evil and psychopathy on a day to day basis that it’s hard not to lose complete hope in this world. The gleeful cruelty from Israel and its people, and the way they’ve been supported and defended, is something that is just hard to reason with and accept as a human being.

And suppose we don't agree with these high-stakes decisions AI is making for us "at scale"? Suppose we disagree with them vehemently? Just our tough luck for not reading the EULA and its fine print before clicking "agree"? No thanks, I'll keep thinking, however "imperfect" a process that may be.

I'm sorry to be pestilential, but if you don't mind, I would first have to understand what exactly the mechanism would be that could possibly achieve that particular result? 'Cause it sounds like hoodoo to me, and I ain't innit. Nah, I'll just go out and vote the same old regular way. As usual.

The FBI raid on John Bolton and similar attacks certainly reflect Donald Trump’s pathology. But they would be impossible without the collaboration of influence-seeking enablers who use their public positions to enact Trump’s vengeance agenda.
