On some level you have to fight fire with fire to live to see another day. This Hochul shitpost is like how Dems should ban gerrymandering once they are in power but until then need to match the Republicans at the game they are playing. We can be more genteel later when and if we can afford it.

I've found it helpful to revisit writers and eras that if anything are darker chapters in US history, and see people like DuBois, Stanton, Lincoln, Baldwin, Douglass, Chief Joseph, Thoreau, etc. wrestle with ensuring the US lived up to its ideals even if they weren't originally created earnestly.
I think Cuban just resents the fact that he has to explain himself to people on Bluesky in real terms as opposed to people just telling him he's brilliant or a special boy or whatever.
There will be little moments where any one of us could be called upon to do their part to slow this down or stop it, and I am always happy to see it happen wherever it occurs.

A lot of Dem criticism comes from the knowledge that Republicans are a lost cause or at the very least unreachable. Soft bigotry of low expectations that means certain pundits will just spend all their time criticizing Dems because sometimes Dem listen, and it distorts what should be criticized.
