A dark kitchen and decades since I've last tried banana bread.
Difference was night and day, but it'd literally been decades since I'd had banana bread. My wife *hates* baking so my assumption was the dry/bland sample I took was just evidence that she'd phoned it in. 😂
Come to think of it the Turtle's been under the radar lately. So much noise out there I've lost track of some of the worst among us. Honestly I still think it's more likely Mitch will bow out before the Orange One, but I'll welcome news about either at this point.

I did address it in other comments but the actual bread was very good. 😁 A lesson has been learned.

Forgive me if I told you this before, but roughly 20 years ago I was lucky enough to work on a team with people from literally all around the world — China, Russia, Singapore, India, the list goes on. There was only one person I truly couldn't understand — the guy from Australia.

It's been decades since I had it so that was a factor. I thought maybe 1) my memory of moist banana bread was faulty, and/or 2) she had a really "off" day. Turned out I was 0/2.

No, literally 20 minutes ago I said to her, "I don't know if I just grabbed a bad piece or what but I tried your banana bread and —" She interrupted me and said, "Yeah, who took the bread out, was that you?" And I hung my head in shame.
That's the crazy part... I thought I detected *just* enough banana that it never occurred to me it was just a plain ol' piece of bread! 😂
I will say the *actual* banana bread was indeed quite delicious!
So last night I decided to try a piece of banana bread my wife made. I immediately felt bad because I found it incredibly dry and quite bland; I didn't have the heart to tell her. Today I learned what I'd eaten was a regular piece of bread she put on top to keep everything fresh. I'm an idiot.

I'm roughly 7 hours into this 51-hour course led by a British instructor. By the time I'm done I'll be saying "straight away" and "bits and bobs" without even thinking.

Kicking off a new learning journey today: Android app development. I *love* to learn and this course is gonna be great. In 30 mins I had everything installed and "Hello World" apps running on both real and emulated devices. Look out, world — this old dog can still learn new tricks.
Last "weird" French thing then I'll shut up (can you tell I love it?). To say "I miss you" you'd think it'd start with "Je"... perhaps "Je te manque". Nope, in French it's completely flipped. You'd say "Tu me manques" which roughly translates to "you are missing from me". Weird and beautiful, no?
Along similar lines, best to avoid "Je suis excitée" to say you're excited about something. It has a more, um, erotic connotation in French.

Sorry to say the confusion is just beginning. At first you might think "I'm hungry" would be "Je suis" something or "Je vais" something but nope, enter "J'ai faim" to say "I have hunger". Same with being thirsty, hot, cold, etc. Have fun and embrace the weirdness!

My initial assumption was that most of those 500+ likes were bots, but to my surprise most seemed like legit accounts. I don't know if it's lists or algorithms or both but there was a short stretch where my posts were presumably hitting the Discover feed and then it stopped. Shady, I tell you.
I'm nowhere near a conspiracy theorist but she herself made it a point to note that she wasn't suicidal. I have an *extremely* hard time believing she wasn't murdered.

Roughly 10 years ago I did a quick solo trip to SF and on a whim I popped in for a game. I can't even really describe it but there was something special about the vibe in that park. Felt like time stopped for those few hours.

I just watched the AP live stream of the walkout and I found it uplifting. It was nice to see normal, rational, intelligent people talking about following the science and being Americans' loudest advocates (even the idiots who vilify CDC in return).
