Previous rights groups, such as women's rights, the civil rights movement and gay rights, sought equality and to remove unwarranted privilege. Some things demanded by the trans 'rights' movement require the rights of other disadvantaged groups to be compromised.
The trans rights movement is very different from other rights movements (and let's bear in mind that women are NOT a minority, they are oppressed and discriminated against because of their biological sex), in that it seeks to undermine existing rights for other groups.
Trans rights activism has painted itself into an increasingly isolated corner by persistently making unreasonable demands, ignoring the rights of other groups and refusing to engage in debate. It's a deeply counterproductive stance.
It always fucking is, isn't it? If someone's particular axe isn't being ground, they want the whole thing to fail. There's no sense of priorities, no sense of the big picture.
The need for, and legitimacy of, single sex provision/spaces (as well as the need for protected spaces in respect of other protected characteristics) has been recognised in law for a long time. That shouldn't be compromised to cater for those who simply fantasise about having a characteristic.
