Run for a seat on the school board. Tell your friends. Most of those seats run unopposed. Most boards have only a handful of people on them. All it takes is 2-3 people running with a purpose to make a book ban happen, so all it would take is 2-3 people running to stop it to block them.
Twitter had this issue too. People would create imaginary divisions and then freak out if anyone crossed into "their" space. Some of the crossovers think they can pull that mess here. They need to change the interaction options on their post or stop complaining when people respond to them.

Individual schools have been doing this too. That is why it is so important to vote in local elections. Rules like these are usually made by school boards...elected locally...members of these boards often run unopposed.
Yes! Some schools are trading safety and student rights in the name of improving numbers. It is not acceptable. Of course children need to learn to be respectful and focus on their learning, during class. But, there is no need to punish all kids for misbehavior of some.
