It sucks what happened to him, and I'm glad he's trying to redeem himself . . . but why didn't he take Trump at his word? Why did he favorably interpret Trump's words. I believe he didn't think it would affect him. He understimated the real racism of Trump and his enablers to his own detriment.

Abt 85-90% of added capacity is from renewables over last 5 yrs. As costs of battery tech declines, renewable energy become more dispatchable (ie. available at all times of the day). Recently, solar has become cost cometitive w/natural gas plants. They've all been cheaper than coal for awhile.
This has been the case for more than a decade. The LCOE of renewables has continued to decline, while the cost of natural gas and coal fired plants has remained the same or increased. That's why in the US alone added capacity has come mostly from renewables.
All of this means Covid and other vaccine shots could be at real risk next year. There may be a large market for people going to places like Canada to get Covid vaccine shots. Maybe I'm overreacting but that feels like where we are headed.
Pretty glaring to me that the first Fed board member they go after, aside from Chairman Powell, is a black woman. I expect the other woman, Michelle Bowman, to be next. This administration is very racist and misogynist. anti-DEI is clearly pro-white supremacist.

On NYC, Cuomo represents everything wrong w/Dem party in general. On cities, Pritzger, Moore, & Jeffries all talked abt current/planned military occupation of cities. I can't evaluate Schumer's comments, since I haven't seen them.
I don't think this gives Americans a reason to resist, or to vote Dem. I think people like Mamdani have the right msg, and tho leadership endorsed Mamdani's msg, including Jeffries, I feel like thy are validating too many GOP talking points. I'd rather they say nothing than to undermine Mamdani
However, I don't think we should be validating GOP talking points, and I feel like the main strategy being deployed by leadership is the Carville doctrine, which is to sit back, do nothing, and let the GOP implode and destroy their own brand. I think this is shortsighted.
Let me ask a different question. What do you think Dem leadership should be doing? And by leadership, I mean Schumer, Jeffries, and whomever you think qualifies as leadership. I recognize that all of them are constrained in what they can do, since we are the minority party in Congress.
I've been living in the DC metro area for 30 years, worked in DC for half of them. Never been robbed or mugged while in DC.

I worked on that crew for a year and half b4 leaving Tx. Sorry, I won't mention names for who I know now; just that it is still fairly diverse, and includes more Muslims and ppl from India than previously.
We would then watch what direction they went. Nearly everyone believed me over him . . black or white. Sometimes black cust. would ask again, and we'd both sing true. He predicted it would happen that way. I didn't believe him. It was an eye opening experience.
Anytime white person would ask us where to find items in store, I would lie, he would be true. If they were black, we would reverse, he would lie, I would be true. Our lied directions were always opposite direction of truth.
I worked on a grocery stock crew that was 90% black. I was only white guy, with 1 Hispanic. I saw racism first hand @ the groc store, and it was never directed @ me. Tim, another friend on the crew, and I did an experiment once. We stocked ailes in tandem.

Major problem with message testing is the assumption that low salience messages aren't effective or meaningful. It just means they're less salient in front of a lot of people. It also assumes you can't walk and chew gum at the same time. Trump's approach to immigration is absolutley turning off ppl
I read his op ed and still disagreed with it. GOP would have done the opposite, were they the minority party. But, it's not just that issue that has me angry. Schumer is stuck in the past, and we have an authoritarian govt in power. He keeps acting like they'll just start playing fair at some point.

yes, and Jeffries style served him well during last admin; he did an excellent job keeping caucus together at that time. But, backroom deals don't help us now. The moment is asking for more from Dem leadership. At least Jeffries didn't stab the Dem caucus in the back like Schumer did Mar/Apr.
If Jeffries agrees w/you, he can always step down as leader of the House. I wouldn't fault him for doing so, nor would I begrudge him/you for stepping back. I wouldn't be angry at him if he chose that path. I realize a lot of black folks risk more if they are in the streets.
Be in the streets w/folks in DC. Seek attn to present Dems counter narrative in many forums. I realize Jeffries' done more than Schumer. I want Schumer to lose his seat, as well as leadership. But, I see Crocket regularly getting attn, and I admire her for that. I don't see it from Jeffries as much.
I know race is a driving factor. Harris being black and female was main reason she lost. misogyny and racism. I'm not asking black folks to fix America's mess. But, as one leader of the party, Jeffries should be trying. He can always step down as leader, if he feels the same as you.

It's possible a non-endorsement from Jeffries will help Mamdani not hurt him. Jeffries seems to be of the mistaken assumption that he has high favorable ratings. He doesn't even among Democrats.

It'll fool wall streat, but no one else. So, expect Wall Street to become more volitile over time, since it will have to rely on fewer and less trustable data from the govt. They'll become more reactive not less.
As a youngster, I never relied on govt data to tell me how well or poorly I was doing. This kind of info is most important for business leaders, economists, and corporations. Their response to this will be to rely on govt statistics less, since they will no longer be credible or trustworthy.
