I disagree. Actual federal agents are bound to operate within the law and can (hopefully) be held accountable legally. Stalkers, predators, kidnappers, robbers and murders posing as ICE agents have no compunction to act within the law at all. Thus fewer protections and greater risk.

In over 30+ years in front line law enforcement I never once wore a mask or covered my badge or hid my agency patches to hide my identity. I was proud of what I was doing for the safety and security of my community. Only during Covid I wore a medical mask, but all identification was in place.
