I have a memory of once walking into a museum in Bedford (in a redundant church, I think?) and seeing a model reconstruction of the Iron Age four-post shrine excavated at Salford. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about? This is from the original archaeological report:

I normally don’t interact with them but there was one with a bulbous abdomen in my mum’s new house. You know, the kind you just think “you’re venomous” about? They’ve got to be rehomed. Plus I had a couple living in a bucket I had to put under a leak, and I figured rehomed was better than drowned.

It absolutely was a great read! I was being chased out of the bookshop by Mr Lorna, who is not a fan of me buying more books, and I hadn’t had a chance to do a proper scan through before buying.
It’s just awful. I’m fairly stoic with croup because we’ve had to deal with it so many times, but that night was a real dark time for all of us. Fortunately we now have a stash of dexamethasone, thanks to a sensible nurse practitioner.
My kids have both had croup multiple times, and Youngest had to be intubated on the sitting room floor by the air ambulance team. I cannot imagine people dismissing respiratory issues in children: it’s absolutely terrifying.

Germany in the 70s was her happy place, I think. It was the first time she ever really got to travel and have independence. And then she met my dad, who was a lovely person. We went back in the 80s, and I loved it too.
They’re all Manfred Frey, I think. She spent a lot of time buying ceramics in West Germany in the 1970s: she even has one of those lamps with the really tall shade

I was at university in 1998, and I distinctly remember gender (and sexuality) being one of the lenses through which we analysed literary texts. And the secondary criticism we read on the topic was not brand new either. Judith Butler’s Gender Trouble came out in 1990, ffs!
