I get a lot of these on the Discover feed. Just memes, disguised as news, for old people and/or idiots to interact with. No sources or link or any context whatsoever just, a meme anecdote that makes the dumbest libs in the world feel slightly better when they see it.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
That was the Dems entire strategy for the last 15 years, it’s not great. Need to offer something exciting and substantial to voters beyond “at least I’m not Trump”
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
I wouldn’t worry though, I’d bet $200 that within 3 years they’ll institute a nationwide gun registration database, linked with Palantir, and you’ll get your wish as they ban anyone whose politics are left of Ken Bone from owning guns.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
lol and I mean, comparing guns to cigarettes is pretty fucking rich. Guns are the things people shove in your face to make you do stuff. If you don’t know what the fuck I’m talking about just go out and protest, and within a couple years this administration will demonstrate it to you personally.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
I gotta assume your answer is no. So in that case your principle here is kinda bullshit, no? You can see how restricting access to the tools of violence and power to the explicitly privileged and powerful within a heirarchy, is perpetuating that heirarchy, yeah?
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Would you support a law that bans gun ownership specifically for minorities? I’m talking *explicitly* racist, but, also very robust laws that are guaranteed to result in less gun ownership in America. You’d support that?
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
lol you’re talking about basing access to violence explicitly on wealth, idk how you can with a straight face claim there’s no class argument to be made here
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Bro trump will be instituting mass gun registration with denials for “Un-American ideological leanings” within 2 years
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
And once you’re indoctrinated, yeah it reinforces a dogshit personality and moral philosophy.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
So yeah like, it’s both. The history and material conditions and stuff brings about the movement, but it especially attracts people who are already thinking that way (hence nihilist troll site 4chan becoming the biggest nazi hub on the internet for a long time)
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Imagine how good it would feel to just, not give a fuck about anything but aesthetics and spectacle.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
That’s why these fascist movements take hold so easily. If you can just convince someone already frustrated by society to turn off that instinct towards truth, and reveal to them the joy and comfort of just saying whatever the fuck they want and not caring, that’s probably fucking intoxicating.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
So like, back in the day when Bill O Reilly would argue with an atheist, he had this quote “the tide comes in, tide goes out, you can’t explain that”. It’s a kind of thought terminating cliche that’s just SO blatant it becomes a symbolic ritual where the folks who take part are *defeating reality*.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
It connects to so many things I have trouble atriculating my thesis but I think there’s a neurochemical thing that happens when you deny reality in favor of a power fantasy, it becomes this little self-reinforcing mind trap.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s belligerence, a thing that has always existed and is a nearly essential part of human nature, distilled into a political ideology. I have a whole theory about this. I think you can literally get an endorphin rush when you go into a belligerent “fuck you, you’re wrong, I’m right” mindstate.

Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
You are a traitor to democracy
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Also if your ideology has no action items because “capitalist propaganda too good” that’s a problem.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
You should maybe learn what communism is. The end goal doesn’t involve any kind of president, king, or ruler or any states at all.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah I don’t disagree with that, I’m saying it’s absolutely possible for one of those 9 guys to have “wealth” especially if he’s got some kind of unique and valuable skill. Wealth can exist without capitalism, obviously.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Idk how you intend a communist revolution to happen with no guns.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
LI mean I think it depends on your definition of “wealth” here
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Oh I mean, idk, lot of leftist traditions would argue that if you’re receiving the fruits of your labor, some peoples labor is gonna result in more fruit than others and that’s alright as long as everyone’s basic needs are being met.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Well, no plenty of people are wealthy due to having sold their labor at a high price. It’s not enough to claim the system is anything like equitable but just sayin. Anyway, if you wanna ban guns let’s try not to *explicitly* maintain that privilege for the wealthy and powerful.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah tbh sounds pretty progressive
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Which is all neither here nor there, I don’t really care to argue with you about communism I’m sure your takes are fucking dogshit. Point is Bernie is an open socialist, he doesn’t hide that, nobody cares except weirdos like you.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Executed criminals for crimes against humanity. Mostly men who’d partaken in the worst excesses of the previous regime, which included slavery, rape, torture, mass executions. The US had nukes pointed at them.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
I mean that literally means nothing
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
This just makes it so wealthy people can own all the guns they want, which, rich people are also the people with the least legitimate justifications for owning them.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Insurance for guns would be very, very cheap, since you can’t get liability insurance for crimes. Most people who own guns agree basic safety training certificate necessary to own a gun would be fine. Guns already have unique serial numbers associated with them, allowing them to be tracked.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Oh well if Jack Bryan tweeted it, it must be true.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent

Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Bro by this logic literally anyone with enough political clout, who isnt a political moderate, is a Russian agent
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
The US civil rights movement was supported and funded by Russia. Does that make MLK a Russian asset?
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Lmao I like how on the left image the guy is a “GRU agent” and on the right he’s some dude with “ties to Russian intelligence”. Meanwhile, Tad Devine has worked for dozens of high profile dems, as well as the previous president of Ukraine (who went to war with Russia)
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Woah woah woah, are you suggesting Bernie might be some kind of SOCIALIST??
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Huh? It’s not blasphemy lol it’s just really fucking dumb.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Those boomer FB memes remind you of that?
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
So, is there any kind of plan in place to change those voters minds, or are you just going “Trump is too popular it’s impossible to win”?
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
lol how many memes of Bernie sanders do you have available at any given time
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
I love when libs are just openly like “having an ideology is bad actually”
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Bro it’s extremely clear that you’re talking to your own alt account right now.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
lol you’re responding to yourself with an alt?
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Including Biden, Harris, Hakeem Jeffries, Chuck Schumer, and anyone else who has ever taken AIPAC money.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
lol wait so if the wrong people support you, that makes you an asset of them? If Russia had instead for whatever reason supported Harris, you’d be calling her a Russian asset? Seems like that makes about a third of Democrat congressmen Israeli assets.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
lol sounds like if we wanna win we should be running Bernie sanders then, if he’s able to pull so many votes away from someone like Trump.

Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Including Biden and Harris.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Dozens of our congressmen could far more easily and directly be referred to as “Israeli assets” (as they commit an actual genocide using our tax dollars and military support)
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
I could easily show you pics of Kamala and Biden in rooms with Russian oligarchs, would that make them Russian assets?
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Because she’s not completely in the tank for Ukraine? Idk dude I think plenty of Americans look at Ukraine and wonder why it’s our responsibility to intervene in a regional conflict halfway around the world. I don’t think that makes someone a Russian asset.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Cause she’s third party, and Russia wanted Trump to win, so they had their bots push for Jill stein? That’s not her being an asset that’s them using the terrain to their advantage.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
lol what is the evidence of that exactly? Without kicking it to some third article to read, or just posting memes, explain to me 1 on 1 how she’s a Russian asset
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
lol you’re saying Jill Stein is evil for running third party against genocidaires.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
lol what are you even talking about at this point, yes responding to one genocide by saying. “What about this other thing?” as a way of diverting the conversation, is absolutely defending genocide.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Lmao that’s all you’ve got to say? Do you know what “morals” are?
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent

Middle East Eye: The world’s leading genocide scholars’ association says Israel has met the legal criteria for the crime during its ongoing onslaught in Gaza.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
No, the lesser evil argument is just, parroting and gut reaction. There’s no moral philosophy there.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
But ofc you don’t actually believe in that moral framework, that’s fucking absurd.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
That means, for example, given the opportunity to guarantee a lesser evil outcome, you morally ought to be willing to personally murder, torture, rape, to guarantee that outcome.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
The fact that your philosophical response to a fucking genocide is moral subjectivity, is a joke. That moral framework allows you to condone literally any act no matter how heinous. If supporting a genocidaire is necessary to combat the Greater Evil, what isn’t?
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s not defensible. There isn’t an argument you can make that would convince the millions of people who are standing in clear eyed opposition to genocide, to change their minds and support a person literally participating in one.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
“What about Ukraine!!” lol what the fuck was that. Doing whataboutism to defend participation in a genocide.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
You were literally using textbook soft genocide apologia earlier, you are defending the pre-Trump portion of the genocide even now.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah and in an ideal world nobody would be voting for a candidate doing genocides.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah my comparison addressed that directly. “Never again” means never again, not “I’ll defend it if the other guy seems worse”
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Again, very high turnout that election. If you’re saying in order for Harris to win she needed an unprecedented like 70-80% turnout, that means she was always going to fail because she can’t get the votes in a realistic scenario.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Lmao trying to pin the blame for all this on Jill stein of all people, is really fucking silly. She’s not relevant lol. For reasons I’ve already explained and you didn’t care to dispute at all.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
lol so you’re just gonna abandon your actual point here? About the apathy and racism? In favor of pinning the election on the biggest loser in politics?
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
I mean no I think my comparison, genocide to genocide, is a lot more apt than your pulled-out-your-ass hypothetical.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah man Kamala deserves a big share of the blame. Pretty hard to fight fascism while doing a genocide
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
lol musks $1 payouts failed miserably, his candidate lost that congressional seat by a mile. Again, among the highest turnout elections of all time.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah I remember in Night when Eli Weisel was like: …and then the SS soldier took the baby and threw it in the air and shot at it with a machine gun, and I thought to myself “it’s immoral not to vote for this, if his opposition has worse immigration policy”
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
The $1 checks were for congressional election. What voter suppression are you referring to exactly? “Apathy or racism” I mean, source? This was one of the highest turnout elections of all time “apathy” is a pretty tough one.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
You ever heard the phrase “never again”? Some people when they say that, mean it.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Why do people think supporting someone participating in genocide is never acceptable? It’s because in high school they had us read this book called Night, about the horrors of the Holocaust. We read it and went “I’ll never support anything like that under any circumstances as long as I live”
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
lol this is part of the lib brainrot where you’re like “here’s evidence that voting for Trump is wrong. Checkmate Leftist”
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
I mean it’s not even close lol Harris was the dem candidate for president, and even if she’d gotten all of Jill steins votes she still would have done *historically* badly.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
I mean, I think that’s a wild comparison to draw. Also, why would that matter? It’s a RED LINE. Many people believe in principle that it’s immoral to support anyone upholding genocide, under any circumstances.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
She’s largely responsible for trump being president, and she did it in the name of defending a genocide. Yeah she’s a villain.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s a genocide. That’s a red line.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
His approval ratings were underwater. It wasn’t political suicide for Pelosi. Meanwhile Harris did the opposite, cleaving to Biden long after he stepped down. In a June 2024 ABC interview when asked what she’d do different from Biden on Gaza she said quote: “umm I can’t think of anything”
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
She had literally 4 years to call for Biden to step down from the 2024 campaign, she didn’t.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah and only one candidate was part of an administration actively *doing* the genocide. It wasn’t Trump.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Her having only 6 months (thanks to the king of moderate Dems behaving like the power-lusting ghoul he was) absolutely contributed to her campaign failing miserably, yeah. “How does that make her a failed candidate” it doesn’t. The failed candidacy makes her a failed candidate.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
lol if you just wanna take total votes irrespective of turnout or population as evidence of success, that’d make Donald Trump ~2000x “more successful” than George Washington, who ran unopposed.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Also no, Harris got 75,019,000 votes, not 77m
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
lol I mean, is that accounting for total turnout? Or population at all?
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
Harris got 75,019,000 votes Trump got 77,300,000 votes Stein got 1,457,000 votes Harris could have gotten steins entire voter base and still lost the popular vote. Because she was the worst performing dem candidate in half a century.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
It really, really is. Third party candidates are part of the terrain in every presidential election of the last half century, that did not pose any uniquely difficult challenge to Harris. Yes it was extraordinary in the way the Dems completely ate shit and failed.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
There have been third party candidates in every general election of either of our lifetimes. That’s a dogshit argument.
Fractionalized & Monetized (@fractionalizedmind.bsky.social) reply parent
It affects the candidates stances in next round of voting, very directly.
