A Labor Day reminder: today there isn't a single city, metro area, or state in the U.S. where a full-time minimum-wage worker can afford a modest 2-bedroom apartment. Millions of people with jobs—even multiple jobs—aren't safe from homelessness in this country.

The creepiest part of this article is the photo where Trump doesn't have on a tie, so everyone else in the photo takes off their ties as well, even though normally they'd all have on ties. Feels like a very weird "Dear Leader" sort of moment.

Yep. They want to get rid of birth control for women. They want to go back to women being servants for men and trapped by having lots of babies and only being able to depend on a man for survival.

Just some useful info: Husband has covid and we got a prescription for paxlovid. It took 5 different pharmacies to find someone who had it in stock, and when we found it, insurance wouldn't cover it.

I imagine mainstream media members behind the scenes being like, "WTF is going on man, this is so mysterious!?" and then completely ignoring it on air. Just like I imagine a lot of Fox people BTS are running around like, 'OMG can you believe this guy is president!?"
Genjibear (@genjibear.bsky.social)
Well, my husband just tested positive. 😭Son is still testing negative, but he's probably got the same thing. Daughter and I are currently fine but I'm pretty certain that we've both been exposed. I had really hoped we wouldn't have a close call until we were able to get vaccinated. 😩

If you have more money than you could use even on the most lavish lifestyle over hundreds of lifetimes while so many people don't have enough to survive, you're part of the problem.

Tossing a handful of that pile off the mountain for them periodically doesn't make sitting on the hoarded pile of gold any less evil. Unless someone is actively giving away vast portions of that wealth, they're a bad person, IMO.
Genjibear (@genjibear.bsky.social)
I don't believe it's possible to be a billionaire and also be a good person. If you are a billionaire, even donating a tiny fraction of your money doesn't really mean much because you are still a dragon sitting on a hoarded pile of gold while the villagers around you starve.

It's outrageous. I also bought a pound of meat, and I did get the cheap one for like $7 but it's still outrageous to me that it's that much. I usually buy at aldi, and we get meat at either Costco or from a local farm (we get quarter cows) so it's much cheaper,

And the scary thing is the things that weren't normal were my breathing and my heart. For weeks I got out of breath just walking a few steps, and my heart would just race for no reason. I'd be sitting down working and it would be 120+ for an hour or more with no activity. I couldn't think right.

I'm so freaking stressed right now. My parents are supposed to come visit next weekend, I have work. I've been working out and I'll probably have to stop that if we get covid again. The threat of long covid terrifies me. It took 2.5 months last time for me to feel normal.
