Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Not seen her in 3 years and we used to run together.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Morning. Hope the day ahead treats you well
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Morning. Food shopping today as Ive a buddy from UK coming to stay from tomorrow. Im a bit excited about her visiting.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
In the naughty corner still. New head gasket and head studs on order. Payen gasket this time as the other must have been faulty to fail after less than 3k. Luckily he noticed the power fail as soon as he left so turned back. No damage.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Will join you on #OnlyConnect and #UniChallenge Good luck
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
To think he was a critical incident and firearms commander too.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Excellent. All good fun.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Didnt mean to state the obvious. Genuinely looking out for you x
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
I was sniggering but had to tell him as I couldn’t listen to an over enthusiastic super car repair guy any longer.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
At 60 and passing at 17 and 2 weeks Ive not had to worry but remember some of our young officers couldn’t drive the big mini buses.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
🤞 You’ve probably checked this but gross train weight all ok?
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Congratulations to you both.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
I had to tell him as I was getting a tad fed up with the fella he was watching. He plugged them in, turned volume down and hasn’t commented in his faux pas. 😂
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social)
Mr A is watching something on YouTube with his head phones on-that’s the rule but I can hear every word Mat Armstrong says. Mr A keeps turning up the volume. He hasn’t plugged his headphones in and he’s not worked it out yet.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Well said Neil. Dont think I have ever had an energy drink. Used to rely in strong black coffee far too much though.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Sounds good to me. Im about to start a new book set in Scotland called ‘Death of a Selkie’ will let you know if it is any good.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Im a great believer in a power nap. Used to get me through very long 16 hour plus days at work when it got busy.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
😡
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Power nap? 20 mins tops works wonders.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
A durable masonry paint. Couple coats on the slabs. They must be really dry before you paint them.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
We’re all good at masking aren’t we? X
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Small top slice and long narrow spoon to scoop soft middle. Pack with soft brown sugar. Up end and a few pierces in the now bottom. Prop over a funnel but seal around edges. Seal the slice back on top. Let it ooze into the demijon for a month. Add more sugar to demijon and ferment.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
👍. I made marrow rum back in 2015. Rigged up a drip system into a demijon in the spare bathroom. Then fermented it.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Going to ask a silly Q - how do you pick the sloes out when it is ready to filter and bottle?
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
😘
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
That is nice.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
I bet. Opens up a while new chapter.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Oh gosh no but that is a very kind gesture. Just a few things we have learned to live without over here. Fingers crossed that you get your tea refill soon 🤞
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Fabulous. It looks really good.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Save it for when she is being particularly teen like.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
I would do it all the more then. 😂
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Sounds good to me.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
I get this. I miss Clipper tea but cant justify €7.99 for a box here when you can find it.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
You should get the compo then. That’s why you always wait and dont make hour own arrangements. My son is an expert in this with all of his travelling. 😂
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
The airlines fault then not weather etc so they should pay out no issue. Did you wait for them to make your arrangements? Usually you have to.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
You are entitled to the additional costs incurred. If offered a new flight you cant claim for the cnx flight just the extra costs. Flight cnx due to extraordinary circs ( dangerous weather)is tricky. Here we get €600 on top of claim.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
🙈 please don’t let them have children
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Mr A did. He has looked at some ‘forum’ and there’s a few had issues with this composite gasket, some after 1k. Came from MG Hive and right for the later head. Now he’s ordered a Payen one.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Mystery being why after do little use. Think the cyclinder head studs might have been stretched. Torqued down on rebuild and after 1k.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Around us the roads are mainly single track former boreens tarmac over top and steep cambers into deep ditches and lots of ‘debris’ from tractors.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Yes! He has another Boardman bike and doesn’t use it for that reason.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Mr A has a Boardman gravel bike and loves it.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
We saw it on Thursday. I didn’t like the book and didn’t finish it. I thought this very predictable, unrealistic and stereo typical. Usual old guard of stalwarts. PB’s accent decidedly dodgy. Similar to a Christie set up. Mr A quite enjoyed it.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social)
MG update. Mr A has found the fault- head gasket. No sign in radiator etc- only just gone. No damage to the head. This was new less than 3k miles ago. Guy in the classic car group here has one and we will order him a new one but not from MG Hive this time

Last year I took a spoonful a day in cold/flu season as a preventative. Some just take it for sore throats as they occur. Garlic can be eaten. It may discolour as it ferments. Romans/Greeks used to do this and it is thought of as the first antibiotic.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Hope they give aunt a concise diagnosis and suitable treatment.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Nice
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Same here- instead of sugar
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
I buy a jar of local raw honey and add a bulb of peeled garlic cloves. You might need to scoop out about a quarter if the jar. Make sure they get coated in honey. Put lid back on. To stop ferment after about a week put in fridge.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Same here with high winds.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Need to buy some firm bananas next week. I made banana pancakes last night as they were getting a little soft.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
😂
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social)
Time to start fermenting garlic in honey as an autumn/winter preventative and cold/flu treatment. Dont forget to ‘burp’ the jar daily.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Fab. Good boost. Tender bum today?
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
I await the results.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Will do. I have my old round airfryer but the Tower one is tall with shelves- thinking it might work ok.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
I have bought an Insta Pot as my old King Pro has just ‘died’ Daughter in Oz uses hers all the time so I bought one. Mine is only the 7 in 1 so quite basic. Let me know how you get on.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social)
@lunabelle.bsky.social I have discovered that my Tower airfryer ( mini oven) has a dehydrate program Might try banana chips. Says 4 hours.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
I’d hold the wooden limb with my feet to pull the cable. Probably far too powerful for a 6 year old me.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Fab. That’s some ingenuity. Mine wooden and he cast the arrowheads and made the arrows. It would go through a biscuit tin packed full of newspaper. I remember making targets for it.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Definitely. He made me a crossbow when I was 6 and I had a 20bore shotgun at 10. Didnt do me any harm at all.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
😂
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
More of a rocket launcher I guess. Go big or go home 😂
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
😂. Cats make me wheeze unfortunately.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Made ours from drainpipe.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Excellent. Great teaching. Not as grand but made my lad a stomp rocket. My father eventually settled into mainstream life and became an industrial chemist. Homemade fireworks all year round, regular shed explosions and custard powder bombs.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
I like it too. We made the kiddos a spud gun when they were younger. Great fun. Hairspray primer. Big field and lots of giggles.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Yes and photos pls.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Nice find though. Coffee time here. Just cleaning the house through as Ive a mate from UK coming to stay. Domestic chores are not my forte and the spiders have taken over again.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
That is a super idea. You know I love a staghorn fern but lit at night is awesome.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
I will do half and half but probably a year’s wait not 4.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
British innit! Saw a clip of a lady showing lots of Is**eli produce for sale in M&S. 😡
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social)
It is a ‘big rain’ day and I don’t like being indoors all day. Ive domestics to do before a friend arrives on Weds but Im not feeling it. Definitely a xtrainer day to burn some energy.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Morning. Possibly a scrambled egg on sourdough toast here if Mr A gets his act together and makes it. Have a good day
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Morning. Have a lovely visit to see your friend.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Used to buy cutting flower seeds from him but cant now Im in Ireland. 😢
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Morning. Heavy rain so no outdoor chores today. May have to resort to doing some domestic chores.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Well done. Super impressive.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Almost.

Adrenaline.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
You are well fuelled. Go Girl Go!
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
😂. Sunny here and we are concreting when Mr A get back.
Ginny (@ginny65.bsky.social) reply parent
Mr A will do it and then Im selling it. I cant use it. Hoping to get an old Landrover. Much more practical and saves the main car needing to tow etc.
