My theory would be police want to encourage people to call 911, so they can cite # of 911 calls in budget negotiations. As a kid I remember police highlighting 911 as “emergency only,” recently I’ve had office safety seminars presented by police specifically saying, “call 911, they don’t mind.”

Folks, this is the best weather. Late August dry air highs in the 70s lows in the 50s is what Minnesotans justify winter with. The sad thing is, this is no longer a typical Minnesota summer, we haven’t had it in the past 5…10 years? We’re becoming Kansas City…without the BBQ. :(

Pluralizing seems to work outside of Minnesota though. It could refer to multiple trucks over their career, or "...a truck..." would work. No judgement meant, my "in-laws" use of it has always struck me as different.

Minnesota seems to be working through and upgrading/rebuilding highway rest areas, they really missed a trick by not adding car charging as they go. Picnic areas and playgrounds, sometimes with a scenic overlook, seems like the perfect place to stop for 20-40mins.

90% of the problems in this country can be traced to the size of the prairie, desert, and other exposed areas. People aren't supposed to live with that much sun and wind, it fries brains. We came from caves, stay in the shade and trees, in the summer retreat back to the caves, it's cool and lovely.
