Agreed. I think the book leans heavily on elevating forward momentum to offsite how much regulation has ground the gears of progress to a near halt. But it should be said abundance plus regulation is the actual path toward real progress

I do think that this is largely a proxy for costs in general. There was not some major tax increase in 2020, people are just reacting to inflation! There's a lesson here... lowering people's costs is a necessary prerequisite to raising taxes! Can I interest you in a little YIMBY-ism?

I *think* the van system still works for cold weather nights when the room in the inn system is activated at churches.
I keep thinking of the many situations that a giant ball isn’t a seat. Any steadiness issues or ADA needs? Not a seat. Needing to feed a baby? Not a seat. Wanting to actually take a load off on a hot summer day instead of balance on concrete? Not a seat.
