Apologies I don't have the answer for your question, possibly the product hasn't arrived yet. I read the thread and am curious why Novavax and not others? I've heard of people not wanting Pfizer or Moderna. Please answer only generally speaking if you feel comfortable doing so!
I’ve spent a good chunk of my career relying on American science and engineering to keep me alive. Yesterday, RFK Jr. testified at the U.S. Senate Finance Committee. It was sad to see him try to destroy the life’s work of so many American scientists. He shouldn’t be in this job.

I haven't completed immigration medicals myself but I've reviewed follow up requests once people have already arrived (TB testing) It makes sense that vaccine ameliorated illnesses would require vaccination to both protect the population but also to reduce anticipated universal health care costs.
Agreed - when I was a new grad nurse in the early 2000s my instructor taught me "With the new cardiac medications and protocols the patients who used to be in the ward are at home, the ones from ICU are in step down unit and the ones in the morgue are alive in ICU" Gains in reducing disease burden.
Sadly it's dependent on the province in terms of Canadian citizens - Alberta doesn't have mandatory vaccines, Ontario and other provinces do. There could be different requirements for immigration medicals and there are travel health vaccine recommendations for people only visiting Canada.

I'm glad vaccines are safe and effective because it's a tool we can employ to better health outcomes. I wish others wouldn't suffer poor outcomes because of a choice that isn't based on decades of public health science. Many haven't learned from the numerous small tombstones of the pre-vaccine era.
We all live interconnected in such a way that germs are able to spread. Different patterns such as isolation vs larger gatherings or communal living impact infectious disease spread and these diseases don't care how you vote or what chest thumping right to choose you promote.
Just one real time example where mandates reduce disease burden. We both understand the science as well as the impact of social behaviours which can counter measures to reduce vaccine ameliorated illness, and yet some attitudes are not able to grasp the concept that no individual is an island.
We don't need to look back 100 years. The province of Alberta in Canada doesn't have vaccine mandates where the province of Ontario does. Alberta population 5 million had 1800 measles cases. Ontario population 16 million with a higher population density had 2300 cases.

A quick search shows they researched cross reactivity during 2023 MPox outbreaks - supply might be the issue but an effective vaccine already exists.
True, many unknowns. I do wonder if the more readily available Mpox vaccine would have any cross protective effects. Admittedly it's a fantasy thought; I've not looked into any research in that direction.
Young adults extends into many people in their 40s or young 50s - a large percent of the total people paying into tax coffers through income and economic purchase participation 🫣
