I hate that we are going to spend a lot of money on defense that is better spent on health and education. But defense spending is the reality of today's world. Given that, I hope we spend the defense dollars in a way that boosts Canadian employment and our economy ... and not the US's

This isn't correct. In R. v. Hoggard August 2024 Ontario Court of Appeal, expert evidence on trauma is seen as unnecessary except in rare, compelling circumstances. It did not prohibit the use of experts. It is still remains that a judge can only consider evidence presented during the trial
The problem is that the Crown did not have a trauma expert testify during the trial. In our court system the judge can only consider evidence provided in the trial.

I doubt very much that what you suggest will stop all sexual assault and therefore court reform is not needed. But for sure men need to learn restraint and respect period.
The original article was about the courts. Yes what you say is obvious. But the court system needs to be changed. It is easy to complain about like this post. And I agree with the criticism. But the next step is how can the courts be reformed.
Yes for sure. Judges and lawyers should be educated in this for sure. Some provinces do some of this.
