The Ford, the Toyota just seemed a bit chintzy in the finishes. I like my plastic to look and feel like wood. As it happens Ford is discontinuing the model for 2026. Functionally the two vehicles were identical.
I was looking for something comparable in size to a 2001 Legacy wagon. At the time the two hybrid candidates were a Ford and a Toyota. I don't have kids, but I do like the capacity to hit the home center for garden supplies.
I have a medium-sized gas electric hybrid SUV. 4 years ago I drove it to the east coast and back. If I recall correctly I got reasonable fuel efficiency at highway speeds for 700 miles a day. Probably 35 MPG, as opposed to 45 around town. This was much better than my previous compact wagon.
There are two basic flavors of hybrid, plug in hybrid which charges like an EV, and regular hybrid which charges from the internal combustion engine, and regenerative braking. My car has a range of roughly 600 miles per tank of gas around town.

If it is important or confidential I may pass it through a cloud drive, but it is never there more than 10 minutes. When I lived in a shared household my chest freezer inventory lived in the cloud because it was easier than setting up a household server.

It has become obvious to me that the right wing doesn't attempt gun legislation not because they are in fear of the gun lobby, not in some sort of reverence for the second amendment, but rather because they see mass shootings as a way to instill fear in the populace that they wish to control.

I don't disagree in theory, but in practice it should be that they limit out after their term ends following their 70th birthday, including if they turn 70 before the beginning of a new term. But to turf them mid term would introduce non useful chaos in replacing them mid term.

When I was younger I drank a huge amount of coffee, plus cola. If I drank a liquid without caffeine it was probably accidental. Yet I became a type 2 diabetic in my mid thirties. Some people are just talented that way.

When I worked for a startup in the mid 90s the only time we were pushed to work extremely stupid hours was when we were trying to hit a milestone by a date that was out of the control of the company. Otherwise there was an effort to encourage some semblance of work life balance.

Honestly, I would use some to set up annuities for some people who I know could use the help. Even if I used half of this windfall on that ,I would still have enough leftover to put into risk averse investments and live off the income.

We have been exposed to more viruses as older people, so our immune system doesn't have to work as hard. Or at least that's my theory and I am sticking to it.
