I hated substack years before I learned that it was a Nazi bar. I just hate the blogs to "newsletters" trend. Part of it is I hate monetization, which I know makes me a bad person, but mainly it's that blogging is a protocol (RSS is, ayways) and $ub$tack is a platform.

What I like about the Fediverse is that it's entirely outside the for profit sector, runs on open source software, etc. With everything online run as a business, I'm always waiting for the other shoe to drop, when the business model loses its innocence.
I've always had to verbally talk through certain things to get to a final conclusion, where others get there with internal thought processes. I got made fun of a lot because I wouldn't always be able to get through my thought process before someone would finish for me and assume I'm stupid.
