I think this is correct. I don't think people need to feel bad about enjoying something aimed at kids and teens, but if you're only (or mostly) consuming stuff aimed at kids and teens as an adult, that's a sign that something's gone wrong somewhere

But also I didn't go to every gun show so it might have been different elsewhere. Idk. Every other far right talking point has been very "well... Duh" for me. It's nothing they haven't been saying for literally decades.
From my perspective, the only thing "new" since 2016 is the trans panic. It's not that gun shows were pro-trans or anything; trans people weren't mentioned at all and the general vibe was very libertarian "who cares what other people do with their bodies as long as they're not having an abortion."
I grew up going to gun shows in the 90s. So much of the stupid shit you see on Twitter, such as the railing against the "smoking ban," I saw on bumper stickers, flasks, and aluminum signs being sold at gun shows as a kid. None of it is new, just now you don't have to pay an entry fee to see it.

There's a lot to not love about Poltergeist. There's also the last 10 minutes of that movie. Also, I get so irritated when people talk about the first movie as an example of "they built over an Indian burial ground" when the film goes out of its way to show the bodies were white people.
Jumping off of this to say all the skeletons being thrown at JoBeth Williams while she runs screaming through a rain storm in her underwear is why Poltergeist is one of my favorite movies. I often think about how much fun it must have been to be one of the people throwing the skeletons.
