Beginning my research for the fourth book of the series and whew is it hitting close to home đŹ
I think you're on to something. I feel Holmes and Poirot are pretty equal in their acuity of detection and outsmarted criminals. But Watson is by far mentally agile compared to Captain Hastings. Plus, his knowledge as a doctor had been insurmountable to Holmes' cases.
Just to poke your brain, what quality does Holmes have that gives him an edge on Poirot?

I think I would come back to this story once I'm done with the two fantasy series. But I would need more study to get the historical accuracy right.
Before the Doppelganger Queen I was writing a story about Housewives vs Zombies. I was stuck because I felt they're getting along too well and there's wasn't enough conflict. I heard that RA Salvatore wrote short stories to work through his blocks. Well, mine became a novel... and a long series.
I'm calling it theft. It's depriving the community the much needed materials to expand their worldview. Rural counties such as these need different perspectives that goes beyond the borders of their hometown. Also, you're taking away property of the local taxpayers, so there's that.
