If I could solder, I'd replace the sticks on my ps5 controllers... One has already gone, one is going. I've already had them apart enough (thanks ifixit!) to clean the "wipers", which works for a short while... Not too hard to do, kind of like the old ball mice cleaning, same principle.

I had the +3... It was a spectrum/amstrad 3" disk, not the PC-style 3.5", looked quite different and was not compatible. Had a bunch of floppys we got from Dixon's... Good fun, and so quick given I was used to loading Paper Boy from tape :-D
3 was such a nice character/expression/less action movie - they worked it very well around a guy who was late 70s, especially at the start - but yeah, he's retired and it's a great ending.

Saturday morning. Daughter and wife are at swimming lessons. I want to be there, but I'm behind with work and I promised a deadline I'm behind on, so I'm going to succeed on that deadline. Life sucks, but I made a promise.
Being a parent is trying to put yourself in the mind of a little unregulated, emotion driven, need/want machine and anticipate they're not going to... And then try to ensure that 1) they don't do it, 2) they learn why not to do it and when 3) they do it, the lesson sticks and they don't do it again.
At the end of the day, this is probably misguided curiosity with, "I want to grab/hold/play" attitude, with no self awareness (that doesn't fully develop until mid 20's, which is why tweenagers are such idiots). It's a good lesson to learn, delivered in a firm way, and the parents let this kid down

It didn't hold up as well in the platforming/camera as I remembered when I replayed it before 2 came out, but I loved the story and inventiveness of it. This was clearly a game by people who went, forget everything, let's just make stuff up and see what sticks... No committees involved!
