I've always believed that if you take an oath of office you should be held to a higher standard. Lying/fibbing should not only cause removal from office and a ban, but also charges for surgery so that it's very publicly announced that what they said is wrong

2 issues. 1) Haven't seen any real numbers of people agreeing to vote against GOP. 2) Remember all the people before the last election that said DJT was horrible, but then asked point blank who they would vote for, said they'd vote DJT any way.

I second this! Also, if you look on a distro's website they will have a "Live CD" option. Basically, it's a full working version that can be installed onto a USB drive. This lets you try out different distros without installing them on your computer. Great way to test the "feel"

There's a lot of tech/apps created that respect privacy. Unfortunately, because the developers don't use ads/sell the data, they have to charge for it. Studies have shown paid apps rarely succeed. If an app is free, then your privacy/data are the cost of admission!
According to other papers I've read from the FFs, I got the impression that it was unthinkable that elected officials would commit crimes. The few items in there seemed to be after thoughts. But I agree, FFs were not as smart and forward thinking as everyone claims they were
I'm actually referring to a deeper problem. Elected officials have always been given a choice of retiring or prosecution. Even Nixon got off with just being removed from office. Personally, I think any elected official should have min sentences for offences that are 2x what normal citizens would get
Even if the Dems were to get enough seats to impeach him, they won't! They've proven way too many times that they don't want to go "that" far because of "norms" and "traditions". That's why we're in this position now. Way too many people stopped voting because of no recourse for crimes.
I think it would be better if there was a focus. Not spending any money for 24 hrs is a huge ask esp on Sat. Think about the paycheck to paycheck people who don't get funds deposited until Fri night and avail on Sat. You're asking them to go hungry a full day

A couple of weeks ago I found a chick (not quite a fledgling) on the ground under the back of my car. Couldn't see a nest in the tree and didn't want to leave them exposed there, so I got a towel and made it into a nest for it. I never saw the parents go there, but saw poop way too big to be theirs.

Unfortunately, it's not 49%/49%. It's actually more like 30%/30% with another 40% who falls in the set [ disenfranchised, disillusioned, doesn't care] causing them to not be represented. I have empathy for the first 2, but the "don't care" crowd is just as bad as those currently in charge.

I think it's more to do with the overall view of social media sites in general. If you look at all sites, there's a downward trend except when there's a lot of bots involved. Also, when Twitter came out there was no competition. Now there're several sites that provide similar experience

I started building an app a few weeks ago and decided I'd try out vibe coding. My personal opinion is that it works well for very basic code, but gets confused quickly. I might use it to do refactoring, and maybe some scaffolding, but not for full development.

I forget it all the time. It was fresh on my mind because I added a component I wrote about a year ago to one of my side projects and it was swallowing the exceptions. My first thought was why did the developer swallow the exception. Then I remembered I was the developer and changed it LOL
A little early to start an exception handling battle, isn't it? 😁 With that said, I'd rather a component throw so that I can log and display a message that is specific to the app (or none if it doesn't really affect the user). I think the biggest issue is communication that the exception CAN occur.

Right now, AI based development is on the level of a junior developer who can't/won't learn new ways. I think this will go the same way as all of the other "this will take the place of the developer" trends. Everyone will jump on board, learn the hard way it's not, then go back. It's only a tool
