Effectively, yes. Like… If you have rumors about a dude being dead, and respond to them by lying? Sending out old images? Means he cannot be on camera right now. Can he speak? Can he stand? Evidence points to nope.
Sarah (@lemistith.bsky.social) reply parent
We should hear this dude out. He says we should give him more money, and that’ll fix it. The it being fixed? Uhh… democracy? I trust anybody who knows the solution, and who I can just give more money to fix the problem.
Sarah (@lemistith.bsky.social) reply parent
And wrote that one speech for the First Lady?
Sarah (@lemistith.bsky.social) reply parent
Disagree. This early, before any election? Absolutely nonsense to not push candidates to do better, and stop being evil. Second, why is the “do anything, save democracy,” requiring persecution? Why is that being held onto? “All hands on deck, but also, fuck some of you, and all science about you.”

The nice thing is how universal the joy would be. Like, zero humans on planet Earth, and, probably none orbiting it, will be sad. Some concern by Nazis? Maybe? Not one tear will be shed. Even if it won’t happen, it’s a nice moment to think about what it’ll be like when it does happen.

Sports leagues have, already, for years, made calls as needed about participation in sport. Age-gating gender affirming care makes no sense, as preventing the wrong puberty is the fairest way for a trans person to participate in all sports, which makes the demands contrary to one another too.
Sarah (@lemistith.bsky.social) reply parent
Not… really? The number of safeties already built-in to trans care as-is is excessive. Which anybody who has gone through it, or is even familiar with it, would already know. More importantly, people ARE debating our right to exist and live, so, now is not the time for whatever bullshit you’re on.
Sarah (@lemistith.bsky.social) reply parent
I’m going to have to get my data updated. I know we’re still short by dozens of trans shooters from even approaching parity in shootings with cisgender people. (Like… at a rough 1% of the population, on this chart we were missing 25 shooters. Which put us in the 1/10th of ‘normal’ range.)

With the added “wait, that’s stupid nonsense” of arguing against gender affirming care of any kind, which is the exact sort of care they are likely to benefit from, having accidentally transitioned. It’s a massive red flag that any politician is happy to appease bigots without any real knowledge.

It’s very clearly an inability to understand basic facts about trans people. Like, he wants to force all trans people to suffer, go through the wrong puberty, have their lives denied until they’re 25/26- in the off chance that a cisgender person accidentally thinks they’re trans.

Sarah (@lemistith.bsky.social) reply parent
I’d imagine not, but feels like a good indicator of which direction they should be moving generally. Corrupt name recognition wasn’t it in New York. I suspect starting the identity seeking process with attacking civil rights of a minority group is similarly fated. I hope it is, actually.
Sarah (@lemistith.bsky.social) reply parent
“The party” fought Mamdani, and lost. It doesn’t know where “its voters” are. So… they can learn, or continue to lose to candidates solidly left of them, where voters are and have been. As fun as a Newsom/Cheney dance number at the DNC would be, pushing fracking and police spending again.
