Last weekend, I retraced the steps of two of the most important moments in American (and Chicago) labor history, starting with the Haymarket Massacre. But the Haymarket Massacre wasn’t just a tragedy. It still provides a compass for us to fight against fascism today:

The aoc bit was on her oversight chair run. In those races votes typically are not whipped. Pelosi, from her hospital bed in Germany absolutely whipped votes for the dying Connelly to beat AOC.
The dnc did not follow that rule though. Pelosi financed a ton of centrist candidates against left wing candidates in the primaries through her PAC. And yes the speaker or majority leader of the house democrats is in fact a leader within the DNC.

Hillary lost because she lost the vote of 1.3 million people in households earning less than $50k that Barack Obama won in 2012 in the 6 states that flipped. These losses cut across racial lines and even gender to some extent. Most without college degrees. People earning less in 2016 than 2007.

Look at the charts. In the states that flipped Harris got the same vote from white men and gained substantially with white women. She lost vote compared to Biden with black men and women in the states that flipped.

Yes and white people have consistently voted that way each and every cycle. Expecting that to change means you will not win elections. The racist white vote is what it is. It sucks, but that’s the job, beating them. That being said a majority of the Harris vote did come from white people.
The voters she lost ground with aren’t leftists. They were high school or less educated suburban women in households earning less than $50k. I imagine a large portion of them came from the 21 million + households giving landlords half their paycheck every month.

Yes we know this. There is 40% of the population that does not vote. At least half of that are not white people, the other half that are don’t feel represented by the system. It’s why they don’t vote.

The American system lumps liberals and leftists together, but their worldviews tend to be damn near incomparable from an organizing perspective.
Let me put it another way. Liberals look at what is going on now and feel the system is broken and needs to be fixed. Leftists look at what is going on now and see the system is working as designed and must be replaced. They are fundamentally different worldviews.
Dude, these are ideological frameworks that exist in the world. Liberals are about individual rights and individual property rights. Leftists are about collective rights and collective property rights. They are clearly distinctive worldviews.
That does not mean leftists don’t see racism, sexism and so on as barriers, it’s just that you can’t ever truly advance those groups interests until the group profiting off the exploitation of the races and women are finally out of power.

Democrats fight their supporters. No matter how just and popular their supporters cause is. Republicans embrace their supporters. No matter how depraved and unpopular their supporters cause is.
