I love the bears, coyotes, and Bobcats that live around us, but I can't afford for them to eat my livestock or garden/crops. Bears are especially destructive, they'll rip open a chicken coop and there goes 3k and dozens hours of work down the drain. My neighbors without stock are happy to host them.
Best way to deal with predators is deterrence with these guys. They bark and mark and tell the predators to go find somewhere easier to hunt and it works the vast majority of the time. Neither the wolves nor the LGDs want to risk an encounter with one another usually. I wish ranchers used them more.

The mail is unreliable in my rural area. I've had important mail simply vanish, or turn up 2 months later in the wrong place. Usually stuff with checks, though no one's tried cashing them. I'd rather not take my chances with a ballot. My regular carrier is great, whoever takes her days off is not.
Same thing I do. I pick a busy drop box that's less likely to be a target of tampering attempts.

My favorite pig Milly who was born and raised on our farm here last year had her first litter yesterday morning. She is such a proud momma and a very good one too. She had 7 beautiful babies, 6 of them girls. She let me handle them for sexing and weighing.
